it's ok to booked online via reliable sites. I booked hotel in Bali online too but make sure u call to confirm b4 u depart. This is to make sure that u got a room to stay when u reach there.

u dun need USD in Bali, if the price tag is in USD, u can still pay in IDR follow their exchange rates.

I found the exchange rate in Indonesia is better than in Malaysia, if u dun believe, u check with money changer when u go bali, even the rate in Denpasar airport is better than the rate in moneychanger in malaysia.

I told my frenz b4 they go bali but they dun believe, what can i do?

but beware of "illegal moneychanger" if u r 1st time to bali. do more research from Internet for more traveling tips. Feel free to read my "Holidays in Bali" blog (am i consider promoting?smile.gif), it's still new but adding in more contents when i'm free, try to recall my experience in bali. I have a post on "how i was cheated by moneychangers in bali." u should take a look, that was my "stupidest" day in my life. beware if u r changing money in bali, i m so "smart" & "calculative" but still kena tipu, damn suih!

this was my own experiences when I was in Bali (2007) & Jakarta (2008). I oso dunno why ppl said the rate in Bali more expensive. When i arrived in Bali Airport, i was shock coz the exchange rates in airport is better than MC in malaysia, of course outside airport is much better but beware of illegal MC, there are a lot, look for reliable one, THIS IS IMPORTANT coz i dun want u became the next victim. a lot of ppl still not aware they were cheated coz they never think & count again their money after changed with MC. This why sometimes i suspect my frenz was cheated by MC oso coz he said "I dun buy much thing but I spent a lot, dunno where i spent..." coz the money u get is lesser but u didn't know. I was too "clever" that's why I knew I was cheated by MC.

ya, as i told, it was my own experience.

now is roughly 1/3 of our money (ignore the last 000). Means Rp100,000 = RM33, this is for quit conversion when shop in Bali.

ask ppl who just came back from bali, they shld know the latest rate.

i stayed in Yulia Beach resort, went last year Jan, that time per night was US$27. location very good, few minutes walking distance to kuta beach & surrounded with shops, very convenient if u like shopping. i booked online that time. try to search some useful sites to compare the room rates & most important is the comments from their guests.

i think is enough 1 night in ubud. i think ur idea to split 3:1 is good. or u can stay in kuta for 4 and make the journey there on one of the days. i think 4 in kuta is better la personally
