Thanks for the great reference! You even decided where to have your meal in Bali, that's awesome.
Those are famous places in Bali? Expensive?
REALLY??? I haven't booked my third night accommodation!
Have you tried to book it online?
*
tried to book online and it is fully booked.
darn!!! damn paranoid already

Added on March 20, 2009, 9:32 pmactually, i narrowed down my choices of hotels. (fat yogi, la walon, masa inn) its fully booked!!!
this past few days non stop sending them emails and calling them. hahaha.. paranoid mah!! handling a group of 14 ppl..

Thanks for the number, will keep it ^^

Btw, I think it is quite hard to find a hotel below than 200 and near to the beach at Kuta...
Is it a good idea if we arrive there and find a hotel?? I believe there are thousand of hotel available in Bali just they didn't put it online....

Added on March 20, 2009, 10:19 pm

Wah... a group of 14! Maybe they don't have so many rooms for all of you...
Btw, is the alcoholic drink cheaper in Bali compare to Msia?
How much the driver charge per day?
*
i guess the acholic drinks are cheaper there..
my driver is damn nice, juz called him n book him for the days.. highly recomended and he wont cheat you but whole time give advise and tell u all kinds of history.. will never force u go sumwhr u dont want..

charges are same 300K for full day..

last time i plan my itinery below. HIGHLY not advisable but manage to achieve it. less than 15 mins spent at some places. my driver crazily TIRED. covered 3/4 of bali already. i miss babi guling & dirty duck due to time management at some places; must be very discipline to only spend 15mins at certain places. i remembered running to tanah lot cliff to catch the sun setting.. hahahha. i doubt any other driver will go according to this itinery because bali is huge and 1 place -> place is FAR..

thats y this time, im goin to juz chill at the beach while my frens go sightseing..

you say whether my driver is nice or not looking at the itinery below.. hehhehe.. if u guys take him, PLEASE don't bully him and PLEASE, PLEASE tip him coz they dont earn much.

Day II
start 08:00

Bedugul tour – puncak bagus - candi kuning - royal temple taman ayun - APN at 14:30 pick up u'r friend - nusa dua - GWK - dream land beach – blue point villa beach - sunset uluwatu (kecap dance) - dinner jimbaran (lia café/amc café) - hotel

Day III
start 08:00 +/-

Tegalalang - Tampak siring - puncak sari Restaurant - Besakih(pay guide for tour) -Sukawati (1430) – batu bulan (cultural dance) - Tanah lot (1750) - kuta (free n easy)

About hotels, y u think i narrowed down to those 3. its freaking less than 300meters to kuta main beach. Its freaking in the heart of kuta (poppies 1)with famous n cheap restaurants as u come out the hotel. u drunk also, no problem to walk back. hehehe, b4 this happen.

BEST of all, hotel rooms are clean and its below rm150. unbelievable rite.. last time i stayed at fat yogi. Clean, NIce and worth every penny. 300meter was a bit far to walk when i was drunk that time. hhahaha.. now getting something nearer to the beach.

guys, all those warung made n such are juz overated. its expensive n all those other restaurants are almost equal in taste with better pricing.. be smart and walk around surveyin. worry not as theres many massage places. hehehehe..

hey Zilch, this is the driver that i recomended all the while.. you took Pak Agus... hahahah.. he is very friendly and helpful rite.. im taking him again and have recomended loads of people to use his his services.. hahahha.. we know this guys dont make much but with our effort, at leasst they have business...

on the music part, i got bored after 1 whole day listening to the same repeating traditional gamelan music, the next day, he brought english music cds and played for me.. hahahah.. nice and funny guy.

hi folks,

for driver i will recommend Pak Agus instead of Wayan. what i did was hire two different drivers, Wayan and Pak Agus for seperate days to test both of them out.

Wayan
1) some guy showed up LATE with my name on a card, he then later mentioned he is not Wayan but Ucok, apparently both of them are partners
2) when via sms, he agreed to RP300k price, but later on the day of when i mentioned my itenary was Ubud and Jimbaran, he increased it to RP350k.
to add to his dishonesty, he mentioned that i should trust him more than Wayan. will a partner betray each other? hmmmm
3) he drove Wayan's car which was a Kenari but with Daihatsu brand, and plays loud thumping bass music. Not very comfortable if you ask me.
4) later he mentioned he has his own car, a Suzuki MPV but he charges RP400k, and asked me if i want his services the next day. IMHO, i think he's just trying to make money out of tourists.
5) overlooking his greediness, he is polite and talkative (if not helpful).

rating: 1.5/5 <-i won't recommend him so forget about the number

Pak Agus
1) showed up on time. drives a Suzuki MPV. price doesn't change (RP300k) and he doesn't play stupid music but traditional gamelan music lol
2) more quiet compared to Ucok. talks when he needs to, occasionally explaining things we see along the road.
3) comes down from the car and gives us a tour of the place we visited (Pura Taman Ayun, Pura Ulun Danau and Pura Uluwatu) and gives extra detours to extra locations
4) very patient guy. i left behind some souvenirs at Pura Ulun Danau and he u-turn for me even tho we drove 5 mins away already.
5) recommends good places for food and spa
6) drives like a madman but with skill. rest assured, he's safe (proof? i'm alive! biggrin.gif)  for carsick ppl, i recommend you take travelling pills or sleep as the journey depending on where you're going is usually 30mins-3 hours.

rating: 5/5 <- highly recommended! call/sms him at +62 8133 7359 168

if you hire Pak Agus, do send him my regards smile.gif

Ser Young

ps: i will post up my itenary + link to pictures really soon!
