Jst back home due to AirAsia delayed the flight again ..@.@

Bali is defintely a good place to visit. Tot I missed out the most important spot : Kintamani due to the poor plan and the unwillingness of the driver sad.gif, I thnk this still a worthwhile trip.

I thnk I shall learn my Japanese well before heading there again...hehe
*
wow how long were u there? man, wasted u were unable to visit kintamani, usually they r willing to bring u there

btw, try to speak malay, u'll get more bargains

Yea our trip is on 11th - 14th July, so its like 1week plus earlier than the predicted date.

I was.. Still thinking. But, if it's really gonna happen, i think government will announce it sooner or later right?
For eg like the precaution steps or what.

I hope its not gonna happen!
*
aya no need to worry n think so much, jus go n enjoy.things might still happened even if u decided not go, then the WHAT IF theory starts again, " IF i only had gone to bali, this would not happen yada yada.. doh.gif

yeap.. i read abt kuta traffic somewhere oso.. can get really "macet" & no point of driving car.. but from kuta we plan to go to geneva handicraft at kerobokan, tanah lot, nusa dua area, uluwatu & jimbara coz its nearer to kuta than ubud.. is it safe to use scooter to go that far?
1 more thing.. i only have car driving license.. not bike license.. can i still rent & drive scooter without bike license? if i stop by police there can they recognize my license is only for car?.. hehe  brows.gif
*
yeah i agree, if ur adventurous (provided ur good with bikes), get one and travel around @ ur own pace. i did tat @ my last day there, and during my 2days stay @ lake toba.

don think they wil be able to tell if ur license has B2 qualifications or not, but pls bear in mind, their stop line @ traffic lights is much much further behind. i got booked coz i overstopped too front, thought like malaysia's system doh.gif

mm r u sure got the same & correct 'Wayan'? At times, they will sub to other ppl if they can'tmake it or booked. if i'm not mistaken, WAYAN is a common term, meaning second or youngest sibling, something like tat

the WAYAN that i had , was very friendly, willing to bring u anywhere.

I just came back 2 weeks ago... Averagely, I spent around Rp32000 - Rp 40000 for my meal in the restaurant.
It is around RM 11-RM15...
A plate of fried rice might cost you RM8++ in Kuta...
Btw, I didn't see any hawker stall around kuta... hehe
*
how come so expensive? check my replies.

'We scouted for food, & we were lucky to come to a cafe called "Bayu IndaH". It's located @ Poppies 1, near La Walon hotel. Nice setting, and most importantly CHEAP FOOD.Here are some of the prices

Nasi goreng babi : RP8000
8PCS Steamed Oyster with rice : RP10000 thumbup.gif
Western food: Fish Chips/ Chicken CHOP/ Tuna Steak/ Snapper Steak/ chicken Schnitzer/ Jambolaya ETC : RP18000-20000
Indonesian food: Gado Gado, Babi Kecap, Something pele etc : RP 8000-15000
FRESH Juices( I mean really fresh juice , not like Malaysia, 1 oren + 1Cup water + 3 Tablespoon sugar)
: orange/banana/papaya/ etc : Mostly Rp5000-7000
'

tat was @ sept 2008, i doubt prices has changed much since.

The cheapest meal that I had in bali would be at the hotel. I called for the meal order at the hotel and I spent Rp 23,000.
Salted fish fried rice = Rp 18000
Coke = Rp 5000

Honestly, I didn't see any main course meal (fried rice or etc) is less than five digits.

I only have 2 person, is it better to hire driver + car rental for a small suzuki jimny that cost me IDR240K full day exclude petrol & admission fee, or just get driver recommend by LYN for about 350-400K per day inclusive or everything?
*
i suggest getting a driver, free and easy. No need to figure out the way. (unless if your the adventurous type)If your hiring a driver for few days, try negotiating the price. possible to hack <300k
