Read this FAQ for basic Q&A
What keyboard should i get? Tenkeyless or Full Size or Full size with macro

Well, it depends on the space on your desk, if you do depend a lot on the numpad, you will of course be needing the full sized. Portability = tenkeyless(TKL)
Not a lot of "real" mechanical keyboards come with macro, they are used by gaming brands mostly.

What switch is for me?
General choices by people would be brown and blue, but you never know which gives you the most suitable feel. Go try it out and decide.

Can i get taobao keyboards? are they any good?
I myself have one from taobao too. They are quite filmsy on the keycap, and a change will solve it. Generally the more known brand will be HPE and keycool.

Can i add LED to my keyboard?
if it has the LED hole ready, then put it on, if not, a lot of work has to be done to let it shine

Where do i get keycaps?
1. techkey.us site
2. geekhack
3. taobao
4. signature plastic, if you manage to get their minimum quota

and one more.. ducky's light is SEXY !
*
One thing I don't like is that if I am using cherry profile caps on ducky,
its LED will leak through the gap since cherry profile keys are short.

If you turn on the ESC row, the light will leak and shine on other object.

Other than that pretty fine.

I wish I could roate the switch and so the LED is at 6o'clock position instead of the original 12

Question from my friend for those who are using white keyboard especially Filco, Ducky, Keycool and Leopold :

which board can maintain the white colour longer?

i know white usually easy get dirty and it's a dust magnet. i heard Keycool easily can trap a dust and it's become dirty after for some month of usage. hmm.gif
*
Filco white is not pure white.
In case of turning yellow, I guess Filco one is less obvious.

You do not want the LEDs at 6'oclock position when using Cherry height caps.
It is ridiculous. Lying back and watching movies on my PC, the LED is shining into my eyes.
Gonna desolder the ones I have. Luckily it is just a few LEDs.
Good at soldering or not, you cannot change the LED from 12 to 6 position and vice versa, without a new PCB or an add in board like what the Koreans did.

So you facing this problem with ur kmac too?

Yes.

Gonna get it removed once i remove the stripped screw.
Then I have an LED-less KMAC.
*
What if you angled your board, so it facing downward.
Will it be problem too?

Nowadays still can get kmac2 parts?

LOL, despite after so many version of rebrand, they still keep the fatass thick braided cable.

BTW, if are interested in the normal Meka G1, taiwan online vendors such as pchome/inpad/armygroup do have them and much cheaper than the price in LYP (RM55X).
*
55X for this ?

Well...
Since there's a little challenge for finding a Tact-X type keycaps...
I've narrow the requirements:
1. have to support backlight... i mean light up the key character/design not the whole keycap.
2. Prefer Red colour keycaps.
3. Compatible with G710+ (not sure its a requirement since almost all wasd keycaps are compatible)

Anything to recommend?  hmm.gif
*
That weird modifier at bottom row is really hard to find replacement like that
user posted image

It's not standard as opposed to Filco Ducky QFR etc.
Other than bottom row, the above is fine.

Not a fan of back-lit supported caps, couldn't help much laugh.gif
