Deviantart is the place for weeaboo fags to draw their shitty animu 'art', post it, and get showered with praises by other weeaboos (usually 'omg that's so kawaii!!! ', or 'sugoi ganbatte!!! ', or 'omg ur soo gewd I wish I kan draw liek u!'). You don't get, nor should you ever expect to get actual critisms on your work. You do not improve via. deviantart

well, it depends on what crowd u go for. if u draw sketchy anime characters, chances are u'll draw the attentions of teenagers, and being what they are, will give u those kinda comments.

but once u get a little more serious in ur works, more people will appreciate ur works, and eventually draw the attention of serious artists who WILL give criticisms... i know i do .

DA has changed my life, period.
I didn't treat it like a "crap-art-myspace", and noone expects anyone as a decent artist to.
It's only the f***ing attention wh0res that are freaking much boring and 2D-ish.

that's why you need to be more objective when receiving comments. No matter what comments or raves you get, if you think your work is not good, it'll never be good enough.

I still think DA is a good place to improve yourself. Not by embracing in all those "sweet" comments, but to learn from other people's style of art. DA has numerous members (which some are crap, but some are really superb), and there's definitely members out there which we could all learn from.

So yes, I believe we can improve via deviantart. It all depends on your attitude and desire to learn.

well, it really depends as some of the old members there left DA because they think that its being flooded by too much noob lol. But well it really depends, when a community gets just too big, the quality control has to be there else it'll just rot.

Well, each community have there target audience. If it doesn't suite you then might as well don't join. We can't compare 4chan art with deviant art.
