QUOTE(faiyahoo @ May 7 2013, 09:02 AM) Hi all, I have just bought the S4 from celcom on last sat... everythings went fine before my yesterday update >_< Previously i can standby very long with few % battery drop... but after yesterday update my phone battery drain super fast >_< which 20% for 7 hours standby T-T any1 can help me on this? usually this can happen especially if you have lots of apps... best to do factory reset. otherwise, can also try to slowly clear the cache/ data of the apps individually... this is actually one pain with android that i hope can somehow get sorted out. i'm curious if this happens for iPhones? i mean... after firmware update... in my experience with android... always better to do factory reset/ wipe. else, you get overheating, battery drain, etc... dem painful. :S

QUOTE(romy @ May 7 2013, 09:53 AM) sorry for the noob question.. what is left after factory reset..and what you have to do after that.thank you. this is the painful part. what is left is what you get when you first got the phone. anything else that you installed will no longer be there. however, there is an option when you do a reset to restore everything to the phone (i think when you enter your gmail account during the setup). you can opt the have everything installed back for you.but if you have games, etc... unless there is a export game data option, otherwise, you lose your game progress. same with sms... you lose it unless you have done a backup first. speaking of sms... i've never gotten the samsung service to successfully backup my sms. stupid service. usually i just use the apps called sms backup and restore.

Check out this post - The best micro SD card for Samsung Galaxy S4hmmm... this one is promo own site leh... might be against LYN T&C... why can't you just give us a summary?? anyway, managed to get myself an s4... not my unit la but getting to play around for a few days. first thing after unboxing... software update. so far... some interesting new features like that emergency help thingy (so sort of panic button). then there's the hovering thingy... nice to have since its also on note. but at least no need the stylus. still exploring... but the screen... wow... nice... QUOTE(JayceOoi @ May 7 2013, 04:51 PM) Yes, but a bit pricey at RM240 (include shipping) and 10 years warranty only. if i remember correctly, there's a legal definition for lifetime warranty anyway... i think x years after the product is no longer manufactured or something... so 10 years could actually be better. just wondering... how much is sandisk 32gb class 10 then?

QUOTE(jagadis @ May 8 2013, 06:46 AM) Plenty of stock available. However, don't expect to get a good discounted price or any good package. I couldn't even get a free screen protector! interesting... i got a slight discount (did not have to pay the rrp of rm2199) and was even given a free SP -- brandless SP but still better than nothing). i've to say that i'm very disappointed with two of the more popular outlets in Klang Valley (DirectD & 1Gadget) for imposing compulsory bundles. still... thanks to them... i found a new outlet. might just start to get from this new 'supplier' of mine for future phones.

initial impression... with most of the sensor thingies enabled...
* battery life not so impressive (then again, first charge only -- so see how) * a bit laggy when opening and closing apps. but scrolling between screens seems ok * the air gestures are quite impressive. even the scrolling thingy with the eyeball/ head is quite good.
if note3 is anything like s4, dem... i'm gonna be very tempted. but then again, if note3 is gonna be physically bigger, hard for me to accept. 6" is a bit too big for me. 5.5", can still accept.

QUOTE(joytest @ May 8 2013, 12:32 PM) That is the problem. It detects that it is not the model that was licensed for this version. not very sure of the licensing... but this could actually mean piracy.

Just now Samsung represent called and he says : Polaris Office Document Editor will not be on S4.. & he suggest me to download KINGSOFT on Samsung Apps... Kind of disappointed... my previous S3 can get that... Any Suggestion on Document Editor From LYN user? actually, should email Polaris Office developers and ask them to make it work on s4. also, why not try Kingsoft? for me... i have Office Suit Pro. bought it last time during sales.

QUOTE(azuradaniel @ May 9 2013, 12:05 PM) Good advice, another former iphone user. I still keep/using iphone coz not really familiar with Android world. just a general statement from me... for me... we should never be afraid to explore new things, try it out... give it a fair go... and then decide if one wants to continue or change. actually... this is also #ubah push... hahaha... but seriously... many are always afraid of change. coz we are all used to the familiar things. but sometimes, change can be fun... exploring the unknown...

will you buy a stock android S4? still rumours for now... Samsung Galaxy S4 ‘Google Edition’ to be announced at Google I/Ohttp://www.geek.com/android/samsung-galaxy...gle-io-1555174/quoting the article: While Samsung’s phone is an incredible piece of hardware, many users find themselves less than pleased with Samsung’s version of Android. To resolve this once and for all, we’ve learned that a pure AOSP (Android Open Source Project) version of the Galaxy S4 is being prepped for launch and will be unveiled during the I/O keynote.
Complete with removable battery and expandable storage with the MicroSD card slot, this phone could certainly address this growing niche.
This Google Edition S4 is expected to be made available starting in June and will be available on T-Mobile bands. At this time we are unaware of pricing or whether more bands will be made available. It’s also unclear if Samsung will be selling the phone or if it will be available through the Google Play Store. This post has been edited by mydragoon: May 15 2013, 12:23 PM

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 16 2013, 12:57 AM) Google I/O now with Hugo demo S4 "This is a Samsung Galaxy S 4 running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the same software experience we ship on our Nexus devices. It's Google's take on Android and it feels really awesome on the Galaxy S 4." Available through Google Play, unlocked on AT&T and T-Mobile with LTE support, 16GB of memory (expandable), unlocked, "prompt" system updates too For us$649 !!!!"!! if no hand waving magic, no head tilt tracking... no finger hovering magic... then s4 is just another piece of hardware... no? i prefer semi la... some of the stuff that Samsung bundle with... like FlipBoard... i find it useless. Dropbox is still ok.
