Price drop so much.

Note 2, because of the active digitizer and S-Pen. People don't get it. Without this there is absolutely no comparison. Without the active digitizer, it's just another me-too phablet.

The typical screen is tough glass + screen (of whatever technology).

Note screen is tough glass + screen + digitizer and yet the price is still competitive.

Take for example HTC One. You pay for the shell. No SDcard, no removable battery and lockdown.
XZ is paying for the durability (???) but no removable battery and lockdown.

Sony may be trying with the Togari 6.44" with a stylus, but unknown if it will be active or not.

And anyway, Note 2 smoothness is well attested by many, even those with other devices.

But they pay for the premium feel
