Samsung Malaysia have only released the 3G i9500 version in Malaysia. Anybody selling the 4G i9505 in Malaysia would have imported it from the likes of Singapore etc., if you buy this sets, your warranty won't be covered by Samsung Malaysia.
Samsung has not officially announced when the LTE version will be released in Malaysia or what the price will be.

Sorry for noob question. Anyone has aa good keyboard app to recommend. Can type good Chinese predictive text and also has the one like Samsung keyboard that has numbers on the top. The stock samsung keyboard sucks when typing Chinese character. Tx.

I did email samsung regarding this. They said it may be cause of the ram usage too high that's why camera restart. Ask me to bring to samsung service center if problem persist

It depends on each person and their requirements. Depending on the plan you choose, you could either save money in the long run or be spending more money compared to outright + cheaper plan. It depends on what trade off you are willing to accept to save money. I have very little familiarity with malaysian postpaid contract plans so I can't really advice you on that. I have always been buying my phones outright. My malaysian number has been on the same old plan which provides very good value for more than 6 years haha.

It's because majority of the huge markets around the world have the international 4G i9505 model instead of the 3G i9500 model that Malaysia got unlike the S2 and S3 where majority had the base 3G model. So most android community support for the S4 will center around the i9505 instead of the i9500 Galaxy S4.
*
Also more importantly, samsung has not been releasing proper documentation on previous exynos chips thus making custom rom difficult. I doubt anything will change with current exynos in i9500.

In contrast, documentation for qualcomm chips are top notch. Making custom rom for snapdragon's (such as i9505) are far easier.

QUOTE(Vcys86 @ May 11 2013, 01:17 PM)
hmmm, so for rom flasher, it is better to wait for i9505 instead, right?

Yes.

I got this suggestion from xda forum :

Go to developer options and change "limit background processes" to 4

but if u doing multitasking on your phone, better avoid this..

Okay, so last Wednesday, I had some majorly frequent S4 restarting issues. Each time I used the camera (especially switching from back to front camera), it will freeze and reboot itself. I couldn't even use the barcode scanner without it freezing itself up. I did a FDR but the problem still persisted. sad.gif

On Thursday, I called the Samsung Call Centre and was dealt with a very impatient person who looked forward to ending the call than helping a customer shakehead.gif

So, I took my phone to Samsung @ Gardens (KL) as they have a technician there for software related issues. I was told that they will help me to reinstall the entire software and it would take up to 2 hours. I had asked on what was the difference between a re-installation of the software and a FDR. They mentioned something about FDR only affects one section/partition where else the re-installation will be from A-Z (Maybe someone here can shed some light on how true this is).

I wasn't able to find out more on the cause of the random reboot as by the time my phone was ready, the technician had gone home.

I've been actively testing the camera out and so far, it was alright. I thought it was fixed until it restarted itself again today.... -.-

But the re-installation did reduce the frequency of the random reboot. So probably it is a software related issue? I'm not sure.

I feel like we should gather everyone who is facing this issue and march into the service centre together lol. vmad.gif vmad.gif

Are you testing the phone without any other Apps installed for these couple of days?

Or you already started to put in your favourite Apps?

This is important as to find out if any Apps (even if running in background) causing the issue. If there are other Apps, we can't tell for sure if it is problem with the firmware or other Apps.

Hi guys, I'm a iphone user wanting to switch to android. I have a question regarding the S4.

Is it possible to root the phone to run stock android and still keep the Samsung features like airview, smart stay, smart pause, etc..??

I can tell you honestly.. this is a software issue since alot of people are facing this. Its not a hardware defect. Even I have had a few force reboots when opening up the camera, but this is random la. I am sure this will be addressed in the next software update from Samsung. You guys can go ahead and give it in, but in all honesty, I am sure they are going to do the same as above:

1)format and install the software over
2)give some stupid lame arse excuse which is dumb
3)slight improvement.

Just wait it out and see if there are any updates from Samsung about the matter, because honestly.. its not only one or two people that are having this issue.. its actually alot of folks.
