indo need to publish almost every deal, cause that's about resposibility for the peoples now, or media, pengkritik or opposition will bash and attacking the govt policy. maybe in the past we didnt know what deals govt has made cause limit on media like internet.. in this time it's hard to hide military procurement because of the internet if u, if u have right keyword, u can find almost everything on google, for an example jane defence or SIPRI, almost every procurement or plan u can find there, even in details deal, buy military tools need big money, if country spend money with no reason, it will be a weapon for opposition. for some seller, when some country need their tools, they need to get permission from the parliament and their citizen (like US), if not, it will be a lot of protest then.. maybe we can hide for some procurement, but not all, especially big deal which is need a lot of money, maybe goverment can hide from their peoples, but maybe not for some of their military enthusiast... smile.gif

Indonesia got a better deal with Germany.

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2804712/all

Indonesia cancelled the deal with the Dutch. The Dutch needed the money to buy UAV's. Now their only hope is to sell the Leo 2A6 to Peru. If not the tanks will be scrap. For a total of 54 units (less than the Indonesian initial buy of 80 units). The Dutch Leo 2A6 will be competing against the T-90S, M1A1 Abrams, Spanish Leo 2A4 & the Ukranian T-84 Oplot.

Russia offers T-90S main battle tank to Peruvian Army

Russia is offering a full-scale model of its T-90S main battle tank (MBT) to the Peruvian Army in response to interest expressed by the service in the tank in 2012, Uralvagonzavod plant representative and former armed forces general Alexei Maslov has revealed.

Announced at the ongoing 2013 International Defense Technology Exhibition and Prevention of Natural Disasters (SITDEF PERU) exhibition, the tank is currently being showcased at the army's headquarters in Lima, Peru.

Maslov was quoted by RIA Novosti as saying: "Given the genuine interest of Peru in purchasing T-90-type tanks, Uralvagonzavod is prepared to leave the tank in this country for testing after the exhibition is over."

Without disclosing the location of operational tests, Maslov said that Moscow had a good chance of selling T-90S tanks to Peru, which is expected to acquire between 120 and 170 tanks of the same class.

However, the tank is expected to be transferred to the 18th Tank Brigade, which is based in Fuerte General de División EP Rafael Hoyos Rubio (Rímac) for comparative tests against US M1A1 Abrams, Spanish Leopard 2A4s and Dutch Leopard 2E6s, as well as Ukranian T-64E and T-84 MBTs, as reported earlier by Armyrecognition.com.

This acquisition forms part of Project Ugarte, which seeks replacement of the land force's ageing Russian T-55 tanks fleet. which was built between 1973 and 1978.

An upgraded version of the T-72 tank, the T-90s MBT features a modernised 125mm gun, new fire control, navigation and communications systems, as well as a remotely-controlled mounted 7.62mm machine gun.

The third-generation tank is powered by a multifuel 1,130hp diesel engine with gas turbine injection, which enables it to attain a top speed of more than 60kmph on the road and up to 45kmph on rough terrain.

From what I know...the Koreans put on hold their joint development with the Indons...but now they are still going ahead with their own KF-X program...in fact just recently EADS stated that if South Korea selects its Eurofighter Typhoon as the winner of the K-X program, they will invest $2 billion into program.....it's like KFX yes....IFX no

first.. from what i know, KFX and IFX is same program, first korean want to built KFX and asking if indo would join that program and turki as well, later turki resign and i hear they make their own fighter program called TFX and got help from sweden (gripen), but indo still join with 80%-20% share (like 150 plane for korea and 50 plane for indo). but beside KFX, korea has FX III program too, so KFX for medium fighter and FX III for heavy fighter (F 35/F15 SE maybe). with the tension increase in the region with north korea, SK need ready fighter just prepare for the worst with NK, so, they need to advance the FX III program, because if they expecting from KFX program, they must wait 2020 - 2024, its too long.. and that KFX program got the effect. cause some of SK fund KFX being transferred into FX III.. second, the changing of SK goverment and parliament has some effect too, need to ask new funding on the new goverment. the letter about postponing the KFX program has send to indo goverment officialy, and they need to postpone like 1-1,5 year because of FX III program.. in relation with FX III program, SK ask for ToT on FX III program, and they hope they can apply some of the technology to KFX program. now the FX III program on progress, eurofighter, and US company has offer SK for their fighter, but i dont know what SK will take. contract has been made, if one of the country leave the contract without good reason, then they must be ready pay some penalties fee.. when korean got their 150 fighter and indo got their 50 fighter, the the next upgrade will depend on each country needs..

Indonesia to build infrastructure for submarine production
ANTARA News, Wed, June 12 2013 00:30

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said Indonesia will soon build infrastructure for the production of submarines.

The infrastructure will be built by state shipbuilding company PT PAL in Surabaya, Purnomo said after a session of the Committee for the Defense Industry Policy here on Tuesday.

He said the country is expected to have the infrastructure ready in the next two to three years.

The session of the Committee, which is chaired by Purnomo, also discusses a plan to produce jet fighter planes in the country.

Purnomo said legal umbrella would be needed before any step taken to build the war plane and submarine infrastructure.

"Support from the House of Representatives would be needed to provide a legal basis for the project," he said.

Indonesia as the world`s largest archipelago, would need strong navy and air force to protect its thousands of islands.

Indonesia has agreed with South Korea to cooperate in building the infrastructure for the production of submarines. The cooperation will include in license, engineering manufacturing and production of prototype.

Cooperation is already implemented in design technology and in the next two years cooperation is expected to be implemented in engineering manufacturing and prototype.

Indonesia and South Korea also agreed on transfer of technology in the construction of submarines.

Earlier, the government said development of modern factory to produce submarine would be implemented in 2016-2017.

The first submarine to be produced under the cooperation agreement in Korea will be completed in 2014.

Construction of the second submarine will involve Indonesian technicians and production of the third unit will be in Indonesia by PT PAL.

The submarine bases will be built in the Palu bay, Central Sulawesi to be commissioned by the end of this year. All units of Indonesian submarine will be stationed in the Palu bay including the new one produced in Korea.
