The money to purchase migs replacement is there.
They have to wait for mkm barter trade contract to end.
Which means 2014. Lots of us did not aware of its.
The problem for tudm is how they are going to split their budget to procure mmrca, aew and mpa.
Tudm been allocates rm10bil in rmk.
Gripen getting the deals is unlikely. Unless the government going for two fighter. Lease gripen while waiting for the new aircraft to be deliver. But then again it would be tough to see these fit into the budget
*
right now, the leased deal is very likely!
prolly the replacement for the F5E and Hawk in the future!

Vamtac is quite durable and easy to produce
Defender is still used esp by the Semboyan while the rough terrain will be handle by the vamtac and the G-Wagon

parts and maintenance maybe cheaper but to operate MIG29N after 2015 a major SLEP is needed to replace the main frame of the jet from head to toe
and that is still super expensive

not to mention the engine change

French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault visits the site of Messier-Bugatti-Dowty’s future facility in Malaysia

user posted image

Sendayan, Malaysia, 29 July, 2013

As part of an official trip to Malaysia, French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault visited today the site of Messier-Bugatti-Dowty’s (Safran) future plant in Sendayan, near Kuala Lumpur. The event was also attended by the Honorable Dato’ Seri Utama Mohamed Hassan, Chief Minister of the State of Negeri Sembilan and Vincent Mascré, Chairman and CEO of Messier-Bugatti-Dowty.

World leader in carbon brakes for commercial aircraft and boasting a rapidly expanding customer base in Asia-Pacific, Messier-Bugatti-Dowty selected Sendayan as the new location for its latest carbon refurbishment and manufacturing facility, to complement existing carbon centers in France (Villeurbanne, Rhône-Alpes and Molsheim / Alsace) and the United States (Walton, KY).

Located near the Kuala Lumpur international airport, Sendayan facility will serve as a center for carbon refurbishment and manufacturing activities for the Asia-Pacific region. The 10,000m2 plant will employ approximately 125 staff and be specialized in the supply of carbon disks for commercial aircraft, starting with Boeing 737 Next-Generation and the Airbus A320 / A320neo single aisle programs.

Vincent Mascré, Chairman and CEO of Messier-Bugatti-Dowty said “Sendayan proved to be an ideal choice for building our latest carbon facility. One of the world’s most dynamic and promising aerospace markets, Malaysia also boasts significant natural gas resources, critical to the carbon manufacturing process. Another positive factor contributing to our decision in setting up in Malaysia has been the strong support Safran has received from both local and national authorities. We would like extend our thanks to the Malaysian government, the state of Negeri Sembilan and in particular the MIDA, (Malaysian Industrial Development Authority), for their untiring efforts and assistance in facilitating the project in Sendayan.”

Messier-Bugatti-Dowty’s future plant will service the company’s growing commercial footprint in the region. In Malaysia alone, MBD is partner to 18 operators, equipping approximately 230 aircraft in service, with an additional 420 on order. Today 1 465 aircraft in Asia are equipped with carbon brakes, representing more than half of the market. By 2031, this figure is expected to triple, reaching close to 4500 aircraft in this region alone.

Messier-Bugatti-Dowty is working in partnership with Technip for the design and overall construction of this project. Start of operations are scheduled to begin in early 2014, followed by airframer qualification later that same year. Entry into service is planned for early 2015.

The future Messier-Bugatti-Dowty plant will reinforce Safran’s industrial presence in Malaysia, joining other Group subsidiaries such as Morpho and Turbomeca.

Messier-Bugatti-Dowty (Safran), is the world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems. Messier-Bugatti-Dowty is a partner to 30 leading commercial, military, business and regional airframers, and supports more than 23,000 aircraft making over 35,000 landings every day.
