Guys, i think my laptop power cord die already today. Machine still undur warrantty until 2015. So my question is basically does power cord wrty as per laptop wrty or is it just for certain fixed period only like 3,6 or 12 mths only. If power cord not cover, then no choice got to buy replacement la.. If u got any idea please advice.. Thx
*
the accessories bundled come with one year warranty although ur laptop is 2 / 3 years warranty. get the invoice together with you and exchange for one if purchase period fall within one year.

My Lenovo Y500 is less than 6 months old and now facing charging issues. It does not charge and stays with 7% battery...

Is warranty for battery still on(I mean does is it valid in warranty period? coz I heard warranty for battery is diff from the laptop itself)? And how much do I need to pay for the battery if warranty is finish?

[attachmentid=3765050]
*
afaik, battery warranty is one year from purchase date. bring your purchase invoice, otherwise the warranty will follow the lenovo system (date usually start from it arrive in msia/shipping to lenovo msia). it doesnt follow laptop warranty which is 2years iws or upgraded 3y iws/onsite warranty.

Hye I have some question to ask. Is it possible to replace the GT750m with GTX765m ? If can is it hard or just plug and play? Also I noticed the latest batch doesn't come with mSATA slot anymore so how can I install SSD into the laptop? Thanks.

Also which one do you prefer (if above is possible) in term of cost and everything:

lenovo Y510p + GTX765m + 128 SSD

or

MSI GE60 - 20e (got 128 SSD)

or

MSI GS70 - 20D (no 128 SSD)

or

ILLEGEAR ( specs of i7-4700 + GTX765 + 128 SSD)

Help me please. Budget around RM4500 to RM5000. Thanks.
*
get illegear since you have the budget...i think y510p didnt come with gtx765m, but u can get the model with dual graphic card (gt755m)

if you need laptop now for working/ assignment, then you should buy asap.. but just to upgrade the machine, you can wait first, wait for the latest machine..y40/50 is announced but yet to release...so guess they will arrived in msia after june/july..

hi, dont think both y410p n y510p messed up by win 8. afaik, both these models are made for win 8. even though most of the drivers are for win 8.

Guys,

Just bought Y510p. Loving the laptop.

However, is it normal that the gaming performance drops down so bad when not charging?

Is there any way to enable the nVIDIA gpu to be used while not being charged through outlet?

Coz it's kinda useless if need to use the laptop for gaming, need to be plugged in power cord..

Is is the same case for other gaming laptops?

try setting in the control panel, to set which gc to run when open the application. or set the universal gc to nvidia instead of intel 4600 in default.

I did that bro,

But still it uses the Intel whenever it is not charging.

Do u have the same laptop, and does it works if you did as per your suggestion?
*
oh sorry bro because i always plug in the charger due to my work demands. so i didnt experience that. I heard that unplug charger will affect the performance of gc but never try that. sorry. and i did the setting as mentioned but my laptop is always with charger. bro maybe u need other sifu's opinion. sorry

No problem..

Hey when u say u plug in the charger all the time, what's the best way to prevent from the laptop to be spoiled easily?

Do u put on the battery or not while putting the charger on?
*
i plugged in the charger and taking out the battery.. if u run high intensive game or program, just make sure u put a cooling pad under it.

I once asked them if they can help me repaste my laptop, they said they can't help. so, i wont recommend them.

sure they might not know how to do it but if they can't help me send it to the service center, what's the point. they are specialised in sales rather than service.

i see.. thanks for the info bro!
