There should be a model number on the laptop you can use to check on Google. Just by randomly searching, I can confirm that a Y520 1060 Max-Q 3GB model does indeed exist.
all the seller here and 11street or lazada never mention.. zzz wtf. They only mention is 1060 3gb, if is max-Q why not just mention max-Q? As a laptop sales representative, they shud know there is a diff between max-q and non max-q. I enquire the seller, he say this is an advantage to u becos max-Q version is cooler, wtf advantage? Max-Q is half baked 1060, the clock speed and voltage is tuned for power saving and thermal management.. summore this is a 3gb version, already 5-10% lacking behind 1060 normal. Max-q version set u back another 10%, total loss 20% compare to 1060.
To me is not about max-q or not max-q, is i never know this beforehand, so i thought it's a bargain to get a normal 1060 3gb at 1k cheaper while y720 is selling at 6k. But now i know that 1k cheaper is set back for the 1060 max-q, plus i lose out the thunderbolt connector which is more futureproof.
http://www.11street.my/productdetail/lenov...gaming-55535131see this my seller, never mention the 1060 is max-q. I know it isnt all their fault, Lenovo failed to provide them accurate specification in the first place. Anyway im returning the laptop, utterly disappointed. I see benchmark 1060 6gb can do 60fps stable for infinity warfare at ultra, mine cannot.
