can you guys gimme a bit recommendation on which model should i take..
-i want a long lasting laptop
-im a casual gamer
-does touch screen really matter or just a marketing gimmick??
-budget around 2.5K but can topup lil bit
-light and not bulky design is most welcomed
-all those model got backlit keyboard right??
-large screen better or not??
1. Depends on how you treat it... My old Acer junk still working since '08. My AW died after serving me since '09 a month back, hence my decision to acquire the Y500 in the first place.
2. Casual gamer..? Define your level of 'casual' as I know of some friends who are casual gamers as well but they emphasise on either the visual aspect or the game or just the fun of it. So sorry there mate, hard to pinpoint casual from my POV here.
3. Personally I don't see the point of touchscreen on lappies. Sure, it's nice to have but it's NOT exactly a necessity. It's obviously needed on tabs and little slabs we call as smartphones but on a laptop..? Nah, we already have a physical keyboard and external mouse for gaming already.
4. You can't go wrong with the Y400 with that budget of yours.

5. Heck, I don't even find my Y500 to be bulky at all. It's a major improvement from my old M15x which was a friggin' block of mass.
6. I know Y has it, others I've yet to look on.
7. Depends on your personal preference. Some like it small and compact, some like it big. Keep in mind that bigger screen tend to put a little more load on your GPU as it'll have to cover the pixel real estate. But with today's standards of the GPU, it's not really that noticeable.
tldr : Your own cash, go "test drive" some demo units before deciding.

Edit : Grammar and spacing.
