Driver problem perhaps. Tried updating it yet?

I don't have this problem on my Y410. updated to 8.1 and update the Nvidia driver to 334.89. no problem at all.

btw, just got the 'free' lappie from my co. today.

alamak..the first thing I do is to disable Bluetooth.

Anyone know how to downgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 7?

I read somewhere that the Win8 key is embedded in the bios. So need to do extra steps to install Win7.

as far as I can recall you just need to do clean installation, no?

yesterday my y500 suddenly cannot boot..
got stuck in endless preparing automatc repair..
tried several solution from google (like this one) and several hours doing the same thing over and over again finally can restore to initial...
then I start doing backups and shut down the pc...
this morning I turn it on and the same thing happened again..
but this time I just need to do the restore again and change the sata settings from ahci to compatible in bios (will get the endless loop again if using ahci) and it works fine.. for now atleast..

so, what exactly wrong here?
the windows itself, my hdd (crystal disk says its working ok), or maybe my sata connector or something?

I did that before, but couldn't validate Win7 cause the "key" is different. Meaning they only refer to the key in the bios.

I've had enough with Windows 8. Too much problems.

I dont even know why Win7 wants to see the key in BIOS to activate when it doesn't even know there's a key in the BIOS...

but still, i doesnt work... must mean something... did you try call Microsoft Customer Service for that?

Also, have you tried disable the Secure Boot/*whatever thing called in the BIOS related to Win8 function*.

Seriously, they need to standardize the name already...

Secure boot? Oh. Yeah. The last time i tried to downgrade, that secure boot is enabled.
I'll try again with it disabled.

Hello, I'm thinking about buying a lenovo Y510p but I'm not sure about the current price and whether or not if i should buy it. Can anyone give me suggestions?

I got it yesterday after bargain for around 3.35k. Quite nice although sometimes the keyboard does not work for a few seconds. The salesman told me that they couldn't get their hands on the SLI version (im in penang, not sure of other states). But in my opinion, it is quite a nice laptop for the price. ps. if you have sweaty hands, be ready to see marks on your laptop that are hard to clean.

Anyone who one Y510P model with 1 GPU can help test this game and see if u guys can play with highest quality setting or not?

Bought mine but was disappointed as it cannot play smoothly even at lowest quality setting, i wonder if mine have faulty hardware?

Chrome, its not just the game, everything is sluggish as hell
eg: opening an app, right clicking....

im able to play it smoothly...

Probably my hardware issue?
