QUOTE(hardi_7 @ May 14 2013, 09:13 AM) Got it from the car accessories shop. But there's plenty around in Automotive Garage as well. QUOTE(efariz @ May 14 2013, 09:08 AM) err..i think he already mention in his thread that he is using Pos Ekspress Yeah, I noob about that. Pos Ekspress is not one-to-one delivery, postman just drop it in mailbox.. Pos Laju is one-to-one delivery, receiver need to sign before accept the parcel.. this is my 3rd time dealing with him |

Hey guys...
I started up my laptop as usual this morning and came to realise that the speakers are not producing any sound at all... Plugged in my headset and there's sound coming out but the speakers are not. Speakers dead..? What gives~? Common issue or...??? Edit : Nevermind, reinstalled audio driver and gave the speaker a good whacking and it's back to normal again... Phew~ This post has been edited by Lil Kiasu: May 15 2013, 03:03 PM |

QUOTE(noorimanyosh @ May 17 2013, 05:15 PM) can you guys gimme a bit recommendation on which model should i take.. 1. Depends on how you treat it... My old Acer junk still working since '08. My AW died after serving me since '09 a month back, hence my decision to acquire the Y500 in the first place.-i want a long lasting laptop -im a casual gamer -does touch screen really matter or just a marketing gimmick?? -budget around 2.5K but can topup lil bit -light and not bulky design is most welcomed -all those model got backlit keyboard right?? -large screen better or not?? 2. Casual gamer..? Define your level of 'casual' as I know of some friends who are casual gamers as well but they emphasise on either the visual aspect or the game or just the fun of it. So sorry there mate, hard to pinpoint casual from my POV here. 3. Personally I don't see the point of touchscreen on lappies. Sure, it's nice to have but it's NOT exactly a necessity. It's obviously needed on tabs and little slabs we call as smartphones but on a laptop..? Nah, we already have a physical keyboard and external mouse for gaming already. 4. You can't go wrong with the Y400 with that budget of yours. 5. Heck, I don't even find my Y500 to be bulky at all. It's a major improvement from my old M15x which was a friggin' block of mass. 6. I know Y has it, others I've yet to look on. 7. Depends on your personal preference. Some like it small and compact, some like it big. Keep in mind that bigger screen tend to put a little more load on your GPU as it'll have to cover the pixel real estate. But with today's standards of the GPU, it's not really that noticeable. tldr : Your own cash, go "test drive" some demo units before deciding. Edit : Grammar and spacing. QUOTE(billy_overheat @ May 20 2013, 10:21 PM) ya, the stupid weather is totally making me Everyone seems moody with the weather around me these days... when you're running games in FHD, all effects are max? 650 SLI? Well, don't expect it to run Crysis 3 with everything maxed out but Crysis (original one) looked neat with everything turned to the highest possible setting. |

QUOTE(NanoWu @ May 22 2013, 03:00 AM) y500 gt750m doesnt support optimus? >_< then would the gpu burned if the laptop open too long time??? Burned..? I OC-ed my old M15x (mind you that lappy runs way hotter than my current Y500) for 4 years and it runs fine. GPU's still healthy some more with me leaving it on 24/7... planning to get y500 hehe |

QUOTE(weilikler @ May 22 2013, 12:05 PM) yea touchpad is 1 of the worse I've used. not sensitive and very hard to navigate around. Dunno lor... My old M15x macam crap nia the touchpad... Unresponsive, no multitouch and sluggish. the plus point is, I dont need to enable the setting "disable touchpad when a mouse is plugged in" as it didnt affect me when gaming / typing so far... i've been using wifi since day 1... so far so good. Maybe I'm not "pro" enough to judge the current touchpad. |

QUOTE(weilikler @ May 22 2013, 01:26 PM) yea... one of... I've tried ASUS, Toshiba, Apple Macbook, all are better better in terms of responsiveness and built quality. kinda hate these "one-piece" touchpads laptops have nowadays. whats wrong with 1 touchpad with 2 buttons? Ah, so that's what you mean... companies are trying too hard to imitate Apple. but they never do their best, just copy for the sake of copying. they should at least try to make it as responsive / user friendly as macbook touchpad, or just stick with old designs. I have a friend's ASUS ultrabook, the one-piece touchpad gives a vibrating feel each time u tap on it , like it's hollow / something's missing underneath I thought you meant by the responsiveness... |
