It would be rather hard to do so ... cry.gif

basically if u know how to assemble molex connector and wires for case fan then u could make the wires long enough for u to cool off the modem....

of course it source power from PSU but at least it is safer and required no work of eletronic circuit board.

get a dc adaptor (usually max 12V) n get a regulator to regulate it to 12 since dc adaptor low load at 12V still gives out 16-18V that would shorten the fans life.

Make urself a regulator, would cost sumwhere....rm5 with dc adaptor rm10.

Use USB lor...more elegant.

http://pinouts.ru/data/USB_pinout.shtml

Most fan should start with 5V. Besides...those applications don't need so much fan muscle.

Another way to tap from the the modem's AC in jack.

last tym i saw at Robyncom, they haf this "4-female molex" device dat is attached using USB..then all the fans were attached to dat device.. a real bling bling there esp when ya molex connector is a LED molex. uhuhuhuhu. but sadly, i didnt pay much attention to dat device, other than juz a device act like an power extension to the fans.. doh.gif

For me get an extension molex adapter. The longest you can get! Find some hole in the casing you can go thru and get another Y splitter and you can even fix 2 fans. My previous CRT Monitor was cooled by 2 80mm casing fan using this idea. Always keep "blue tag" handy, it will help alot. I just tag the casing fan on my previous CRT without even using any screw and it work wonders.

just get a cheap psu la. rm30 like tat and you're good to go. making extension wires are risky. you dun want to stress and also short circuit the psu. more over, the longer the cable is. the less effective power transfer you're gonna get.

I've found a solution but wired madness. I used a transformer adapter that powers 12volts into sum extensions and powered up fans. It can oso power up anything else using a molex connector. I took out molex from a Y-splitter to use and it works fine
