can i use MEK (METHYL ETHYL KETONE) to clean heatsink? what can be used to clean the procesor?
if MEK can be used, what must i do after rubbing/cleaning with MEK? use alcohol and rub again?
where can i buy the things, in small bottle (not 1 litre) to clean my heatsink? (i have a bottle of MEK at my house.) my friend use it to clean metal parts.

i'd rather use commercial alcohol. it's cheap and easily available
small 50ml bottle is only rm 1.40
for true o/c-ness, choose arti-clean. it's sole purpose purpose is to remove the gooey residue of thermal paste

the processor core? if its a pentium 4 i think its safe to clean with just alcohol make sure u ground ur hands first before u do so since intel has those metal heat sinks above preinstalled
if ur using some other type of processor which the core is xpose just cotton bud or a swab with alcohol can do not to wet

MEK is no problem, just that it can be too strong, i think it will react with the proc substrate, cause its in the ketone family. Use IPA, alchohol better lar.

You need to clean it with alcohol if your heatsink is the pure copper type and oxidazation is there. If its alumnimium type, I always install and forget iy. use a vacum to vacum the dirt will do.
