Hi,I wanna ask,can I reuse the battery from dead laptop?
how do I test each of it if it is still in good condition?
*
someone suggested to check for the internal resistance.
i used to check for the internal but i can't figure out whether it is good or bad battery.
may be the method i used is wrong.

You can test for the capacity. Old battery will degrade resulting in lower capacity.

Hi bro, any specific reason why no? Where did you get your 18650s as well?
*
first is the led indicator. there are only 3 leds. when charging phone, it will blinking from one to another, like flowing. but we don't know how much charge inside this powerbank. it doesn't show the level of the remaining capacity except u disconnect it from charging your phone. 3 leds doesn't enough to accurately show the capacity.

second is the charging voltage. inside there are regulator and ICs to control the charging limit. but it is fixed to 4.2V only. that means some other battery such as 3400mAh can't charge fully, which required 4.35V to charge fully.

and i think the efficiency is not good also. my 2800mAh battery perform less than expected. 18650s can get from taobao. some battery charging voltage limit are 4.2V and some are 4.35V.

All, I have a question.

Anyone tried this:

1. Charging the powerbank via A/C
2. Connecting the STILL CHARGING powerbank to CHARGE your phone.

I have found that none of my Yoobaos can do this. It's either charge the powerbank or charge the phone.

Appreciate feedback on brand and model.
*
My pineng unit also can't do this. It has higher priority to charge the phone than A/C charge your powerbank.

I don't think ultrafire have 5000mAh capacity. shakehead.gif

Chapalang China brand sometimes charge 1 and a half times kaput d
*
How much you pay is how much you get.
so if you buy a cheap chapalang brand then you can expect it won't last long,
may have a risk of explosion too.

I have a 30,000 MaH that isn't in use and would like to know it's true capacity. Was wondering if you could do a test for me?
*
Now i don't have much time to do the test. Because my test required long time and manually calculate for the result. you may try to count how many times it can charge the phone.

Hi all,

Just bought the Pineng PN-910s, just some question...
1. How many hours to fully charge the powerbank from flat.
2. Where is the senial number on the powerbank?
Tia.
*
Hi,
It needs about 12 hours to fully charge the powerbank, depending on the charging current.
There are no serial number on the powerbank.

Panasonic cells runs at max voltage of 4.2V only.
Unless the chemistry composition is different, all the cells voltage would be the same
the 4.35V is a pure BS

check the manufacturing dates of the cells also. some dunno keep for 2 years before selling to end users, so the capacity dropped d

sure ?
Because the seller told me 2800mAh and 3400mAh required 4.35V to fully charge it.
They have custom made charge to charge the battery until 4.35V.
They had tested and sold to customers.
I will personally test it if i have the chance to grab a 4.35V charger.

yes, u can check out the datasheet from manufacturer.
sometimes they charge the voltage higher to make more capacity.
lets say u charge at 4.2V will get 2600mAh
charge at 4.3V will get 2700mAh.
sometimes the battery might be out of specs or does not comply fully to manufacturer specs.

the voltage depends on the chemical composition, if the chemical composition are the same, thus voltage will be the same.
all lithium ion and lithium polymer voltages are the same at 4.2V

dunt know who's the idiot which started the 4.35V thing and everyone started to use at that voltage, charging at 4.3V will cause the battery to die prematurely only. wont have fire or burning hazard

if you charge at higher voltage, the battery will die faster, that all

I think what you want to show is this right?

You can, right? From the first pic you seem to have the replacement batteries (red) already.

Some soldering will do?

one thing special about laptop battery is the eeprom.
it will remember the percentage of battery. if i have fully charged it and discharge the battery bypass the circuit, it will resulting the battery cannot be charge through the circuit. laptop will show 100% fully charged.

i guess what should i do is before i dissasemble the battery, i fully charged it. new battery also fully charged. then assemble ot. should be ok.

Hi..recently bought this powerbank.
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-p...spx?pid=4588#kf
My wife used it to charge 4th gen ipad but managed to get 48% battery from 0.
Is it fake coz its stated 12000mah. Should be higher than 48% rite
*
may be the efficiency is not that good enough or it is using the recycled battery that have lower capacity.

my AC giving me >1500mAh ....no problems ...all of my cables use on S4 AC Charge is ok ...only the powerbank itself got problems
*
The S4 cable i think is data cable. Please use pineng original cable as it is charging cable. Charging current will not be same.

ohh... but why data cable can get >1000mAh with S4 charger , while using with Pineng powerbank , its 300-500 ? weird enuf ..nevertheless , i will try it after work smile.gif
*
yes. the AC charger have data pin shorted, so the phone can recognize it as AC power source.
But pineng powerbank don't have data pin shorted. The pineng cable is data shorted, so it is a charging cable.
you can try connect pineng cable with computer, see whether your computer can recognize your S4 or not.
