QUOTE(x-treme @ Jun 10 2014, 06:46 PM) Slow charging ? Do you mean the time required to charge the powerbank ? 11200mAh is really big capacity. 1A charger required more than 12 hours while 2A charger required more than 6 hours charging time. Do you mean the time required to charge the phone? Because if you are using data cable, the charging rate will be slower. That is USB charging. If you are using charging cable to charge the phone (data pin shorted), it will provide AC charging, which is fast. slow to charge the phone.

For Pineng Powerbank, the input only 1A max..so even use 2A charger, still need over 12 hours to charge full from flat..

Great to have a knowledgeable person contribute to forum discussions. MechEng student here, secretly interested in EEE but no balls to take up EEE.

I'm interested to know how good is xiaomi 5200mAh powerbank. I read somewhere that 10400mAH has up to 93% efficincy while the 5200mAh has up to 85% efficiency. It'll be great to include testing of the 5200mAh version powerbank.

Actual charging current might be vary according to how much current can be absorbed by phone. It is not necessary must be 2.1A during charging.
