if 1A = 1000mA ..

why is power bank rated in mA. ???

why 2200mA .? is it not same as 2.2A. ??

we dont say 1200meters.. .  = 1.2km...

big numbers make it look like more power la bro.

I saw many of powebanks used recycled batteries.I tried one, doesn't quite charge an ipad. The powerbank output slower than what my ipad uses.

18650 cells ranges from 1600mah to 3400mah (panasonic 3400mAh, made in japan)

so lets say your powerbank is 6 cells, max is only 20,400mAh, these cells are sold for about RM 45 per cell, so the cells alone for 6biji is already RM 270.

so how could your unit be 30,000mAh ?

AllinGap is correct. For simple verification, just measure the length of the powerbank. 18650 means 18mm diameter x 650mm length.

6 cells will give you 6 x18mm minimum length, plus another 20mm or 25mm for the circuit board. If it is any longer it means that there are more cells.

Still, to reach 30000mah will need at least 8 cells with current 18650 technology. Unless they use lithium polymer packs.

contemplating between a few powerbanks,

xiaomi 10400 - cheap and not bulky despite the capacity, but not sure on reliability as quite new to the market?

Enerpad 9000mAh - almost double of xiaomi yet lower capacity, but a very reputable brand in the battery market, plus its pretty small and not bulky

Yoobao 6016 - high capacity but looks a little bulkier than the other 2 options.

can anyone advice?

I have one of those power bricks claiming to be 50,000mah. I knew it would be a fake rating before buying from alibaba but at the price I was willing to take my chances.

I've has it for 6 months now and use it very frequent, seems to be going strong. It takes a full day sometimes longer to fully charge. It looks like that white one with the sandbags but black.

It can charge my smartphone S3 and S4 from empty to 100% around 4 times each phone, and can charge my iPad 2 from empty to full 1.5x. Charges my nexus 7 twice. So in theory is good for phones better than tablets.

It is a brick and im happy I got it for like us$20.

Im after a new smaller one to use alternately. Yoobau is too expensive unless it can truely deliver similar results to my brick otherwise better? Plus I don't know which store to trust is lowyat which sells genuine.

I don't know if mine has sand in it, I doubt though.

PART 3: Lithium-ion / polymer (not 18650 battery,18650 is similar to AA type of cylindrical battery)

Borrowed another powerbank from my friend, it say it is using Li-Po ,smaller and thinner size.(diameter of 18650 battery is 18mm,this one is less than 18mm thickness)
The rated capacity is 5000mAh,everyone can guess how much is the real capacity?
user posted image

Battery inside is thin, but is it soft one, if you press it, it will not restore back to the original position.

The voltage regulation is not good as PINENG powerbank, it fluctuate much more.
Some of the data taken:
4.77V 0.92A
4.80V 0.93A
4.64V 0.89A
4.48V 0.86A
4.37V 0.84A

From my calculation, the real capacity is only1.82W
Rated capacity 3.7Vx5000=18.5W only9.84% is the real one.
this powerbank had been used for 1 year plus, now only remain 9.84%,1.82W even can't charge iphone for half time.

For your information
Even though there aren't sand inside the powerbank, it doesn't mean it has real capacity.
For example: I opened a powerbank, inside contain 4 pcs of 18650 battery, if I said each 18650 battery has capacity of 10000mAh, 4x10000= 40000mAh. This can charge note 2 more than 10 times. Will you believe it?  rclxm9.gif  Don't laugh, there are people will believe this.
Remember the highest capacity of 18650 battery is 3100mAh,manufactured by Panasonic. Those who said it has 5000 or 10000mAh are cheating.[/size][/backcolor]
If the powerbank is not using 18650 battery, but is Li-Po type, the price is much higher than 18650 type. Li-Po is extra thin and slim. Manufacture price also higher. Those who sell at cheap price, you know la  nod.gif

Another sharing
Anyone can guess what is this ?

It is battery but not AA type,is 18650 battery,it is used in our laptop battery, this is called 6-cell type.
This battery I disassembly from Lenovo laptop, rated capacity is 48Wh, each 18650 battery contain 8Wh, or 2162 mAh.

Everyone can see that even laptop also use 18650 battery, don't think that this type of battery not good, it is cheaper than Li-Po type.

highest capacity is by Panasonic, 3400mAh. selling about RM 45 per cell.

china made cells are within 2600mAh range only, the rest is all BS.

ultrafire or what, it's just a 3rd party OEM battery wrapped in ultrafire cover.
the capacity is not so much

Hi bro, some powerbank claimed it is able to start a car.
Have you tested the output at 12v? Whether it can generate up to 40 amps @ 12v?
Very curious to know this tongue.gif
