i wonder whats the max capacity that the circuit board can handle.
maybe can add few more cells in paralel to increase the capacity.
*
may be you can try on it and share here. rclxm9.gif

i can connect a few wires here and there
but i'm not very pro in electrical/electronic stuff.
what's the worst that can happen?
fry the board and the usb charger?
*
worst case, it melts your plastic case, explosion may be?
remember don't connect in reverse polarity, that is the most important.

Yeah, need to find those soldering tabs.
Like this, http://www.batteryspace.com/Component-1-pc-Soldering-Tab-for-Li-Ion-/-LiMnNi-/-LFP-18650-battery.aspx
I wonder those electronic hardware shop have this.
*
but you will need spot weld too.

li-on = lithium ion ( widely used on branded phone)
li-po = lithium polymer
*
oh. lithium-ion i know, li-on i don't know.
lithium-ion is more common name.

lithium polymer is actually more flexible and can shape in any size, can be made as thin as 1mm.

in other word, li-po is more lighter and the battery can't last long in term of usage, am i rite?
*
li-po is lighter because it din't use cylindrical, it use flexible foil type case, and this causes it less durable.

and the battery died very fast after using it..at least 1 .5 hr after full charged.
*
cheap tablet definitely using cheap quality battery, you can see in those powerbank.
So you want to replace the battery by yourself ?

yeah its not simple..maybe getting powerbank charger is the better option i guess.
*
ya. if it is 18650 or other standard size then it is easy to replace.
Powerbank is a better choice, but it is less convenient to bring.

Have you all seen this before?
It's a power bank tube that allows you to swap the 18650 batteries. Anyone bringing this into Malaysia?

What do you guys think?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ls0czBpzAlc...be_gdata_player
*
yea. i will try on my own first.
some allow mix with different battery, but some just parallel those battery and then conversion to 5V.
those with parallel type should use the same type of battery and with nearest internal resistance.

there are lots of sellers on lelong selling 18650 4000mah at around RM15each, i doubt those are any good. anyone got recommendation for reliable batteries?
*
those 4000mAh are over rated. the maximum capacity right now is 3400mAh manufactured by panasonic.
so those with unknown brand and claim their battery capacity more than 3000mAh, mostly are fake.

recommended brand for battery: panasonic, sanyo, or samsung.

The youtube one is just one piece of 18650 battery that can be swapped. Looks so simple.
If you try and it's good, please PM me ya. Interested to get.
Thanks!
*
using 1 piece battery, why not consider buying 1 more extra battery for phone ?

Because... using iPhone and iPad smile.gif

And I want something super portable. Small and light.. can just throw in the bag. Thinking of getting Powerocks Magicstick now. Looks good. American brand. Any thoughts?
*
good reason. haha
i think at least 2 cell enough for use. iphone still ok, but ipad has very high capacity.
American brand should be expensive right?
But i will try for 2 changeable cell powerbank first.

I have 2 Yoobaos. 1 is the 11200 and one is the 13000. I opened up the 13000 model and it looks legit. My friend bought it in China for me at RMB280 at an upmarket shopping center.

I can charge my Note 2 about a little less than 2.5 times.

Looks like it is giving an effective rating of :

(3.7/5) x (13000) x (75%) = 7215mAh

Would this calculation be a good indication of real mAh rating?
*
calculation can't indicate the actual capacity.
(3.7/5) x (13000) x (75%) = 7215mAh

7215mAh/ 3100 = 2.3 times

75% efficiency i think is because of large current drawn which reduce the efficiency.

RMB280 is quite expensive compared to Pineng.

x-treme, when u opened ur PN-910, u figured out that the 18650 battery is 2800mah based on calculation, did u visually confirm that its written 2800mah?
*
yes very confirm. it is the same type as shown in above picture from joytest.
but it written 2800mAh for each cell.

it is impossible to label lower capacity because it can't produce the higher output as measured.

it is not possible to label the larger capacity because it is not look those over rated 30000mAh, where actual capacity is far less than half of it.

Same CMICR F8 cells .... wonder if I can swap out my faulty notebook cells for these.
*
should be no problem for that. i had bought sanyo 2800mAh cell and plan to replace the notebook cells.
but the measured result shows the capacity is much lower than expected. may be just like the seller says that it needs 4.35V charger to fully charge it. Now plan to buy the cell with 2600mAh with required 4.2V to fully charge it. nod.gif

Where or how are you getting the 4.2V charger? Do you mean you will separately charge the 2600/2800 cells with the 4.2V charger before swapping out the notebook cells?
*
i bought from the same seller. 1 type is powerbank with changeable 18650 cells and another one is universal charger for Li-ion and NiMH battery, when it fully charged it shows the time required and capacity of the cell.

No need separately charge. The housing of the notebook cells containing the charging circuit, just plug into notebook to charge it. I don't know whether it is necessary to erase the data in the EEPROM or not, it stores the information of the battery.
