lte matters now. It's only available in Klang valley at the moment, but it will be spreading out fast . lte is future proof. Even if u don't live in Klang valley u will enjoy lte when u visit. Phones are not investments. Most of us don't buy and sell like share market.

S4 no lte?
S4 have snapdragon and exynos version.
In gsm arena snapdragon one say got lte while exynos one market dependent.
Why malaysia s4 no lte? Frequency not match?

What is the point of having powerful processor if the software is still crap? Many ppl has complained that the gallery is lagging even though with octa core and 2 gig RAM!!!!
Even iPhone 2G never lags even a heartbeat when viewing photos.

SAMSENG engineers are only concern on making the best software for the next model e.g. Note 3, s5/6/7
Look at note 2. Still stuck at android 4.1 while iPhone 3GS runs latest iOS.

You are right about the touch wiz gallery.
iPhone 4 single core also can view photos very quick, and can scroll very fast.

Touch wiz gallery is very slow, even on s3.
Sony gallery is even slower when I check on Xperia s.
There's always delay when wana scroll through the pis quickly.

When using aosp gallery, it's good in terms of speed, but I notice pics will appear slightly out of focus at first, and takes half a second to be clear. Kinda weird.

I notice the short blur in most gallery app when viewing pics from the TV via hdmi
The short delay for the pic to load to full clarity is very obvious. Most likely wont notice the small lag for the pic to be clear on the phone screen itself.

The best/fastest gallery app is camera jb+
It comes with its own gallery that looks exactly same like stock gallery, but no delay when loading pis.
Very very fast.

The 4mp is a big deal if you use cam scanner app a lot.
Scanning quality will reduce. More mp the better, since can crop.

I'm using Samsung phone too. Touch wiz doesn't look nice if you're long term holo theme user.
Bt like all theme, eventually will get bored, change to tw once a while quite refreshing also.
There are aosp themes available if u know how to root. Some custom roms even have aosp themed by default.
Or there is always aosp roms like cm,aokp,pa.

Back when the old days I still recall my SE 990i could scan business card just fine (I think it's a 3.2MP), not sure about text. I have taken documents using 5MP and find no issue whatsoever. I find it more positive that HTC could fix the problem (given that they can reserve extra manpower for the firmware development to One as they have only 2 phones (One and First) in 2013, but probably many more in the same stage last year or previous year). S4's low-light capability is already as it is, nothing more we can do to improve it, and to me, taking indoor pictures (like an outing with friends in a restaurant with cozy and dimmer lighting) or getting viewable low-light photos matter more to me than getting the extra pixels. (They are all being oversharpen anyway.)

Phones are never investments, but they are expensive toys that people may get bored in 6 months. This should still be the minority of all shopping smartphones, but I suppose quite a number of them are hopping around in LYN, just go Garage Sales one round and you'll know.

They will have LTE in the future, as announced by Maxis since 4G was only made its debut here recently and not mainstream.

Samsung is pretty smart; S. Korea has both LTE and Exynos paired in the device while they sell each benefit separately for other regions.

It's actually because Samsung wants to push their S4 out early, to fight with One and Z, and probably create enough gap until the next most amazing thing come out from the Apple camp. I believe they only manage to start mass manufacture the Exynos chip, and couldn't get enough time to stock up their inventory and thus have to source from Snapdragon. To sugarcoat their sourcing of Snapdragon (which is because of the delay in the Octa-core), they try to make the Snapdragon LTE-enabled but not for the Exynos. However, the Exynos can do 4G just fine, so some regions still get it in the end.

Now that's something interesting. So does that mean the future Exynos models will be revised or an update will have to be rolled out to support the existing ones?

I think that depends if our telco wants to wrestle that in for you or not - distributor will likely not care unless the sales of S4 has been underwhelming and LTE being a reason (which I don't see that happening). Both Celcom and Maxis went for the 3G Octa-core, chances are they will just stick with this, unless they need another 4G phone to push for their 4G network. If Digi and Umobile could launch their 4G network (I have no news about this), maybe they could try to bring that in to promote their network. But it's all up to Samsung if they want to give away 8-core 4G S4 outside Korean or not.

I heard S4's special features only works on their own apps and not all?
And doesnt work very well at that.

Can I have confirmation from someone who tried it before?

i just got my s4 since last weekend . So far so good , from what i can tell now it smoothness is very smooth , not to say better than Iphones but it is comparable .

The 5" FULL HD screen is just wonderful , the experience of viewing photos , watching HD videos and playing games have been lifted up to the next level. U cant describe it until u have seen it urself

I'd say go for this phone smile.gif

when user have s3 and dont plan to buy s4,
they'll say "no big difference, not worth upgrading"

when user bought s4
they'll say "wow big improvement! worth the upgrade"

Come on. Everybody listen properly. HTC one has lte. S4 no lte. Not yet at least. How can u ever accept a device without lte? People who say lte doesn't matter are very ignorant. It damn well matters. Imagine yourself saying gprs is enough and hsdpa doesn't matter. LTE matters

LTE for S4 is coming soon..

http://www.lowyat.net/2013/04/25/7576/sams...irims-database/

plus for those who doesn't bother much about LTE they can either skip LTE enable phone provided:

-They don't bother much about it, 3g/H+ is enuff
-Face it, LTE is not yet mature in Malaysia. It will take few more years to fully matured by then, newer and cheaper phone will come out..

Looks like more people are recommending to take HTC One.
It really looks more attractive honestly as S4 is so similar to S3.
