Hi, a new AK100 User reporting in. Was enjoying it together with my E12DiY amp. It sounds decent with the muses01. However,when using the AK100 alone pairing with my low independence JH5, felt that it sounds kind weird and lacking of low mid until low part, like so hollow. Is it something to do with the 22ohm independence of it? Should I go for RWAK100? Was considering about it and dunno whether it will bring a big difference or not. How long would it take for the mod?

Man...Discovered another annoying problem with my AK100...The USB DAC doesnt work with a USB 3.0 port? My Laptop that loaded with all my collections only have USB 3.0 ports.....This is going to be a very sad case. Anyone has experience on how to fix this? Like....umm...changing one of the port of my laptop into 2.0? Or maybe there are some kind of adapter or cable or conveter

You mean if i downgrade to 32bit windows, i can only access maximum of 4gb songs from ak100? Wad do u meant addresable memory is limited to 4gb?
If pass thru usb hub also cannot~Should i mod one of my usb 3.0 into 2.0 den? That would solve most of the problem. Hopefully its possible.

Oo~now i understands...den it will sacrifice the performance of my 8gb RAM~==....really.....frustrating...maybe i should try dual boot os...dunno will work anot...i see some headfi members also have the same problem as mine...since last year till now, no solution had been found... guess will have to buy a cheap DAC to use with my comp

Nah, my collection only ngam ngam 100gb and currently was looking another 64gb to fit in the 2nd slot. But, do shoot me an expecting price if you are selling it. Might well consider about it...

oh...didnt expect that 128gb sandisk is having such a high demand. But his order really came at the wrong timing.

Not as famous as Red Wine Audio but their mod is also recognized. The guy who is doing this mod is currently in KL and we can save the shipping cost and Paypal charges if we want to deal with him. He provides the dac change mod(not similar with RWA as they still preserve the volume button and there is a switch for the alternation of filter) and also bypassing the 22ohm impedance of Ak100.

Just a sharing. MSAk is also one of the mod on par with RWAk. And I find that the mod of WM8741 DAC mod is much more interesting than Red Wine Audio's. They didnt sacrifice the volume control of it and you still can use it as a portable DAP. Since Phanom is at Malaysia, he is offering a special price that is a bit more cheaper than the price stated at website. Too bad I am at Penang now, if not would like to try out his modded MSAk with WM8741 DAC mod.

I sent mine to him once I knew he is in Malaysia today. Save much more hassles of international shipping.

Beside on the DAC mod while preserving the Volume control, he also able to add a digital filter on it. And also in the headfi forum also mentioned that a balance output can be added to your Ak100. Try search for MSAK100 in Headfi and you will have a few reviews on it.

So we call that MSRWAK120 Titan...

IMO, after adding the digital filter for RWAK100, it would going to be an advantage over the Ak240 as you may be able to alter the frequency response of it. Sound wise, would need to have an A/B comparison for both units. A fully modded MSRWAK120 Titan vs Ak240 would be an epic review and the first ever in the field of audiophile.

Will be doing a MSAK100-S mod here with Digital filter. Might be receiving it by next week and will post up some impression about it

My Ak100 was having problem at library scanning too. its like around 3000 songs only. But my library just can't manage to scan all of them in. It just miss out some of them.
