was thinking of getting ak120 but the budget is too high for me to handle.. is the ak100 worth getting? or shld I save for ak120? are there any drastic differences between ak120 and ak100? or should I go for DX50??
I am planning to use it with Pandora Hope VI smile.gif

Or you can consider my AK100MK2 smile.gif

Big difference between the normal AK100 with AK120 is the output impedance making AK100 less user friendly with IEMs. Besides that storage space is slightly bigger on AK120 and better soundstage and airier.

AK100MK2 has the same output impedance as 120 and is tuned similarly with 120 as well. Sound quality is similar to 120 with the 120 soundstage more noticeable when hooked up to speakers.

DX50 is really good for the price, best if you can test them all before deciding.
You can consider X5 as well when it's out here.

I would love to.. but I am currently residing in Taiwan studying.. and I could get a new AK100 MK2 for 22500 TWD which is abt RM2450.

The AK100mk2 by itself does not offer enough juice for the Pandora to really sing.

So... Get the 20ohm version?

not a matter of the output resistance, it is about the amplification  nod.gif

even with the AK120 you will still need to pair with an amp for the Pandora to sing  sweat.gif

so... which one should I get now if I want to use it directly? the AK100 MK2 or the normal AK100?

What you need is an amp on top of the DAP. But it depends on your preference, i'm sure it's sufficient to drive the Pandora well alone, but driving it to its full potential is another story.

but which one shld I get? the 3ohm or 20 ohm..?
I got a SE535 here with me now... back in Malaysia, I have a MDR-1R.. doh.gif

you are missing the point here.  for your Pandora, the consideration has nothing to do with the output resistance of either 3 or 20 ohms.  it has to do with the power output  sweat.gif

haha.. ok ^^ I'll get a good amp in the future then... argh!!! this headphones and stuff are making my wallet go empty
