QUOTE(joshuachew @ Jan 5 2016, 10:22 PM) Do you own an AK120? If you do it'll be much easier to explain. But I'll try my best here. Not yet but searching information about it, first timer here so much to learn. So basically when you load songs the player will scan your media so that it can sort the songs you have so that it can display the songs by artist, album, songs etc. If you have more than 10,000 songs, the player will only be able to sort and categorise 10,000 songs. However, if you have more than that, simply disable the library scanning. And you can access all your songs; say for example 12,000 songs in the folder view in the AK120 interface. Does this make sense? The song limitation on the AK120 to be able to be categorised is 10,000 by the way. Okay, what you mean is by using the library UI it is unable to list more than 10k song but using directory folder you can access more than 10k song. Is that what you mean? |

QUOTE(joshuachew @ Jan 6 2016, 12:32 AM) They won't. Haha. I doubt they'll be updating the Ayer any longer unless it's absolutely necessary. Yeah, it's an old device by any means. They won't do any major update I guess. But the generation after that tho, its all good. Not much of a song limitation. Then again, 10,000 songs is plenty much. Probably not the right place to ask but does it enough to power LCD2/T1? |

QUOTE(shin2l @ Jan 6 2016, 06:58 AM) Nope for T1 either 1st gen or 2nd gen, bcs the output power is too weak, even though you can maximize your volume in your AK but the sound impression wont satisfy you What about pair with Nano iDSD+AK120? Unless you pair with desktop amplifier, than it should be fine. Micro iDSD is too big, Mojo and Nano is a good size tho. |

QUOTE(joshuachew @ Jan 6 2016, 12:26 PM) If you're going to get the AK120. Forget everything else and get a Mojo. Beats everthing by two miles and is honestly a bargain for how much it's going for. You using the same setup as well? How does that combo pair with LCD2?Try it out and you'll be blown away. |

QUOTE(shin2l @ Jan 6 2016, 12:57 PM) I tried IFI micro series before, in high gain mode, to me, the sound becomes harsh, it makes your listening experience not enjoyable. Like Joshua say, instead of getting IFI series, better get Chord Mojo for impressive experience. But still, I recommend you bring your AK120 and LCD2 to test around at E1 personal @ Sungei Wang or Jaben Subang Jaya. QUOTE(joshuachew @ Jan 6 2016, 01:12 PM) Well, my set up that I am using is that of the AK120 stacked on top of the Mojo connected Via optical. I've posted the picture a few posts back. Actually I tried Mojo with T1 in Jaben Subang, soundstage is super wide but bass is not deep enough that's why not opting for LCD2. Didn't try iDSD Micro tho. I used to drive my LCD2 straight outta the AK120 and its 'good enough' for my portable needs at that time. But I've since sold off my LCD2 But I now use the AK120-Mojo stack with my LCDX and other full size headphones. It sounds amazing and can rival alot of desktop set ups. And the AK120 Mojo stack to me sounds better than any other stand alone DAP out right now. Guess I have to fork out that extra bucks now. Another question, Mojo is Dac+Amp or Amp only? Will there be interference if I use Mojo+AK120? Since AK120 inside already have a DAC. |

QUOTE(joshuachew @ Jan 6 2016, 02:26 PM) The Mojo is a DAC amp. So your AK120 will be used as a transport. But if you wanna use it with IEMs then you can detach the AK from the Mojo and plug your IEMs in directly to the Mojo. However, I just have them strapped together permanently cause it just sounds that good together. So AK just act as a source after connect them together? The headphone plug into Mojo correct? And no. No interference. Just use the signal via optical out. And then the Mojo will be in charge of everything. Sonic wise. DAC and amp job will be done by the Mojo. |
