actually before i get this car already know it is high fuel consumption, my expectation is like my old saga (auto),
but i found it is worst than it.

I just mod the handling and engine only. Exterior look stock one..
As of current (just swap in adjustable yesterday at home) I think I spent about:
For handling + tire side less then 3K
For engine not much. Less than 1k about 700 ringgit. 

Those steering I bought in 2002. I keep it until now only use that time it was selling for 450 new one. Gearknob bought from Tokyo Auto Salon 120 ringgit. It's a genuine Ralliart piece here seling price is expensive. The Blitz 1.3 bar radiator cap also free gift at TAS.

Those other mods I DIY so didn't cost me much less than 50 bucks I can get material and do at home. All hardware shop stuff.

I just mod things that needed improvements. I do bit by bit so can tell whether the items work or not. The power now, I felt is adequate for me at this moment since some mods is already done to the throttle body to increase the air flow rate plus it's a MT nothing much to complain

u mention here 1st time drive saga, so i assume u bought new one 
according to what u get for ur fc on that situation, that's normal. especially brand new with cvt, if u drive an auto GB
this happen to me too when getting my new saga. demmm horrible fc, about 13liter per 100kmh 
but with patience with what i had bought, just go with it

since owned, we in here have discuss tons of info about saga. from blm to flx+, from fc issue to poisoning stuff
in here i learned how to improve fc, which is now i feel ok with it
saga fc when u 1st time dribe it, it horrible. then after u go for interval service as stated in manual book, u can see fc improving
not just on servicing, there's other thing you minght to considered

- your right leg footwork... that's right. practicing how much you press pedal to the floor. why we need press it to the floor while can press a bit, ur car can start moving. and dun rev so sudden. it eats petrol
- petrol brand. favourite subject. some people love it, some people dont bother. but me, it concern much. have tried all of it. my opinion, caltext the worst. best in town shell, balik kampung petronas. bhp is my facourite
- if ur ride is cvt, best way to improve fc is see your rpm. a slight rev at 2krpm is enuff to bring u from 0 to 70kmh in about 8-9sec. so engine less strees, less consume petrol
- all saga cvt have SAT mode, which will set 6 different tpye of gear ratio. its useful during jam. in jam, activate SAT mode will stay on 1st speed when the traffic make stop go stop go. when reach certain rpm then it step to 2nd speed (i cannot called 6AT because cvt is gearless. those claim it has 6AT are totally wrong, as they didnt search and read what is cvt n internet)
- tyre pressure play parts of fc. keep the pressure maintain

u may ask the rest of members here for fc improvement. i cant give details for manual gb as mine is cvt. so ask around

-maybe have to watch out for my footwork since my kancil lack of power so i tend to press alot when drive out of junction 
-im in kuching, not much choices for petrol brand. we only have shell and petronas but currently im using petronas
-yes my ride is cvt 1.3
-SAT mode good for jam? maybe i have to try that out.. 
-gonna pump my tyre first thing tmr morning 

BTW i have a friend who is in saga club kuching as well but he is driving saga blm auto.. he recommend me 3 things to improve FC:
-change air filter to simota/k&n
-change to lighter rim as our executive specs equipped alloy rim are quite heavy
-change to a lighter and better air flow muffler

these mods will help improve my flx fc?
