There are no reason for you to import your protein directly from U.S.
Waste of time, money, and resources. Local seller, sells the same thing, some more it's cheaper, and more convenient.. Unless, you're getting something that are unavailable in Malaysia. Easy, just contact the person in U.S and ask them to import to you. Unless, you're buying dozens of them. It's quite expensive tho as for the transportation fee. Last time, my cousin bought some shoes and weights from US it took them 1 month to transfer to here. Before doing so, someone at SG has to take over, because there are no direct courier from US to MY. But as for now, I'm not sure. |

QUOTE(Existant @ Apr 27 2013, 07:37 PM) Hello bros Quite easy. Good relationship with malaysia custom. And at least 500 -1000 tubes per shipment to cover the cost. Owning own cargo lorry might make your life more easier.Do you guys mind if I ask, what is the procedure to import gym supplements into malaysia? I want to get my stocks directly from the States. QUOTE(Existant @ Apr 27 2013, 07:37 PM) Hello bros Are you importing for own use or you are a reseller?Do you guys mind if I ask, what is the procedure to import gym supplements into malaysia? I want to get my stocks directly from the States. Thanks In general, for own use there is no special procedure. Just find a US seller who ships to Malaysia, order and pay for shipment and it will be sent to you (using whatever method of postage you selected). When it arrives, just a matter of whether it is held up by Customs or not. |

QUOTE(Cloud2322 @ May 3 2013, 11:17 PM) There are no reason for you to import your protein directly from U.S. If I buy the same thing sold by Malaysian sellers from bodybuilding.com, and spread out the shipping cost with several products, I definitely get a much better deal. It's only the waiting time that's the issue, as the cheapest shipping takes about 1 month. If you plan your purchases well, you get lots of savings.Waste of time, money, and resources. I got a "warning" letter, stating that importation of health supplement needs registration/notification/licence, or will be fine or imprisonment. Anyone got this before?
I bought from bb.com, around $150, not RM |

as long as your items are below $100, you are on the safe side.

I buy multivitamin and fish oils from bb.com all the time. So far no issue, sometime It may take longer than one month, but it arrived eventually. Yup, it is cheaper compared to local.Try to fully utilize the maximum weight for the cheapest shipping cost, then you can save a lot |

QUOTE(janson_kaniaz @ Aug 18 2013, 12:08 AM) actually it's a gray area. some say less than RM400-500. i bet it was the puasa time that hold it up, no offence. and it depends on your luck. if u got a picky officer, there's nothing u can do. they ship with a box, that's why get caught up by custom, i believe. don't pick the free 2.2l bottle next time. |

QUOTE(seiken85 @ Aug 18 2013, 10:18 AM) i bet it was the puasa time that hold it up, no offence. Bare in mind, whatever that is "free" has to be declared as well. For example, if you buy a 5lb protein with a buy 1 get 1 deal of $50, bb.com has to declare $50 x2, plus whatever the cost of the free gifts, if any. So even though you are paying less than $100, your declared amount could be well above that. Custom don't know what is free and what is not, they only look at the declared amount. Inexperienced buyers usually don't realise this, so they tend to overbuy and ended up being taxed unnecessarily.they ship with a box, that's why get caught up by custom, i believe. don't pick the free 2.2l bottle next time.
