QUOTE(Andrewtst @ May 10 2013, 12:29 PM) Sony never mention Z is Water Proof. It is Water Resistance. Proof and Resistance is big different. their ads strongly with mis-lead and exploited user whereby the picture advertised a Z submerge to water http://www.sonymobile.com/my/products/phon.../features/#tabs Also the menu had clearly mention not uder Ocean Water, Swimming Pool, Diving, Hot Water, Sand/Mud and Other Liquid Chemicals. So, Sony had right to reject if they knew you snap under sea/river. |

I did submerged Z in the swimming pool(chlorined water), and drop it in the mud once, I also type under the recent rain....it was risky, but luckily I managed to pass.
So does sony built this phone as advertised? I think yes..but not all phone. Out of 1 million units there could be 100 defected units and it could be yours or mine *just because ur car speedometer say u can reach 250 kmh, that doesn't mean u should reach it to test the truth |

QUOTE(zero_hour @ May 10 2013, 12:49 PM) not by sony, by other user, advertisement/ influence ,you get what i mean? That is consumer issue. haha! Nothing related to Sony. Congratulate Sony cancel it. btw, i call xperia 1 800 88 number, complain, then they cancel my "void warranty" , QUOTE(creative zn @ May 10 2013, 12:54 PM) Hmm.. How about these, That is consumer issue. haha! Nothing related to Sony. So if anything happen, cannot blame Sony."We tested the Xperia Z to make sure it can keep going even after 30 minutes under water." |

QUOTE(jimlim007 @ May 10 2013, 01:51 PM) their ads strongly with mis-lead and exploited user whereby the picture advertised a Z submerge to water No issue submerge to water. It is plain water, not others, and user guide had mention clearly with picture. So is consumer issue if consumer never read it. |

QUOTE(teckyang97 @ May 10 2013, 05:39 PM) Actually IP Code for 7 mean "Immersion up to 1m"... That is by standard... Also depend on how the water pressure is...QUOTE Ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time (up to 1 m of submersion). |

QUOTE(teckyang97 @ May 10 2013, 05:39 PM) I never said Z cannot. But it means only normal PLAIN WATER, Sony never said let you submerge Z at Ocean Water, Swimming Pool and etc.And please re-check your Quick Startup Guide, whether Sony mention it is Water Resistance or Water Proof.
