My OBD2 will report higher water temperature but on the meter it looks normal.

On jam roads, water temperature oscillates 88-92C with stock thermostat. At Genting, water can reach up to 97-98C. The needle on the meter, tak boleh pakai, always programmed to show the same.

the stock meter only shows 2 mode..... normal temperature

or suddenly jump to max, but that time its already too late

The temperature needle is being straight to the point la. Overheat means overheat, jump, no overheat means no movement. flex.gif

when overheat, the engine temperature also slowly rise, after a certain point only consider too hot ma

but as the engine temperature is rising, the needle still stagnent pointing at the same place, it didnt rise accordingly to the engine temperature

until it is too hot, only the needle suddenly move to max temperature

When was the last time you changed you brake pads? Could be caused by worn out pads. Might be your car's rotors as well. hmm.gif

Option 1) Skim, where the average cost is between RM60 ~ RM100
Option 2) Buy new rotors, which cost RM1xx ~ RM2xx for Persona per pair.

Dunno what workshop to recommend sorry sad.gif.

There could be reasons why Proton/car manufacturers don't give exact readouts. There will be some paranoid fellas who try to claim engine warranty each time they load the engine tongue.gif

Example scenario: Customer complains of engine overheating after going to LYN Saga/Persona TT because after comparing with other cars, his coolant temperature is 1C higher.
