For folks using Logitech G25 or G26 wheels, today i was cleaning the pedals and noticed some brown stains near the botton of the pedal structure, after rubbing it i notice it's rusted, so how could stainless steel rust? so i googled seems some people are experiencing rusting on the metal parts. Which consist of the pedals, gear stick, steering & paddle shifters.
those that feel like cleaning the wheels can refer to this:

i cleaned all the parts, it wasn't that dirty, sprayed some WD-40 on the rotating parts, applied car wax on the metal parts, didn't have the metal scrubber so have to live with the rust. took me few hours to clean everything and put them back. after that i put some kiwi neutral shoe leather polisher on the leathers.
so now new rule for playing the wheels. always cover the pedals when not playing, and when playing wear clean shoes and make sure the sole is clean so dust/dirt/hair won't fall into the inside of the pedals. using barefoot if you have sweaty foot the sweat might sip into the underside of the pedal between the metal & plastic causing rust. so do note when cleaning the pedals make sure the cloth is not too wet to avoid same result.
if you happen to go ahead and dismantle the pedals, make sure to test all 3 pedals with the windows gamepad program to make sure you get 0-100% throttle.
the gear teeth of the bottom (north) is always at the bottom and the pedal teeth (south) goes into the 1st teeth, make sure you get that right or else you will mess up the throttle and make sure the wires go into the cable space when putting the case back.
