Having a dilemma here. Ordered the 32GB version with touch keyboard and still waiting for its arrival. Tried the touch keyboard at challengers today and the experience wasn't pleasant sweat.gif The accuracy is really really low and a simple task such as typing suddenly became hard. I have an iMac and and iPad with me so whenever I wanna do some word typing on my iPad I will connect the Wireless Keyboard from my iMac. The physical keys are really nice to have. Is it really that hard to get used to a touch keyboard ? Anyone tried to hook up his/her Surface RT with a keyboard ? Does it work ? Thanks

Here's a nice video comparing the RT with an iPad

The only reason for me to get Surface RT, full sized USB port and free Microsoft Office Home and Student rclxms.gif but.... Do you really need Microsoft Office on your tablet, I mean most of us will still prefer to do our assignments on a full sized PC or laptop.

Well personally I think that included micrsoft office is good, as you not only view files and can also work on it while you are at a place without pc and urgent?
And I think this is what ipad/android tablets can't do, correct me if i'm wrong  hmm.gif .

Well we can use an OTG cable for that to hook up an USB device. Yeah I really liked Surface RT with the included Microsoft Office and a full sized USB port, I just hope that my field of work will requires me to work with all these awesome features rclxm9.gif As for now, I rarely use Microsoft Office. Maybe once per month for assignments and it is really a waste.

thats purely for education cust's only - students nd campus members.
it is a std practice for all edu organisartions to pay a very minimal amount for softwares , and at times h/ware too.

The thread that was opened was by a a person who has a lobang to procure the surface via edu organisation. Technically its not wrong but practically its not right smile.gif

I'm a K12's student but unfortunately my school did not receive the offer from Microsoft. In fact I think only a few educational institution were offered this Surface RT promotion. So I had to find for lobang to join this bulk brows.gif

Hey guys, new comer here. just got my hands on the surface RT with touch cover. One thing I notice about this surface tablet after playing it with a while, the volume is really soft. Maxed out my volume already but it feels like 50% of my iPad's volume. And then I did some Youtubing with some apps running at the background and there is some really obvious stutters.

Cant seem to register the warranty for my surface rt. Keeps on giving me error

Ok seems like you need to register for the warranty on the surface itself. Registered the warranty for my touch cover as well.

Will those 12" sleeve fit nicely? need to go and get a look

I'm using the Mac City sleeve for 11" MacBook Air. So far so good. Saw a 10.2" sleeve at ALL IT for Rm 7 only. Worth a shot

Hi,

Any suggestion on what are the basic apps that newly owned RT should have?
*
This is what I have now, twitter, Radiant Defense, Jetpack joyride ... The apps in Surface RT is really scarce sweat.gif

I am thinking of buying one. Can I ask a few questions about Surface RT?

- does it have free adobe app so that I can open pdf files and do the other things that I normally can in my pc with adobe reader?

- is it printable to a HP deskjet advantage 2060 printer? Please check for me if this model is in the apps.

- does it come with free Angry Bird seasons 1,2 & 3?

- does it come with free candy crush saga and temple run?

Thanks.

It is preloaded with adobe reader, there's no such app for printer. Most of the apps are paid and candy crush and temple run is not available is Windows RT. I think you are looking for an iPad
