QUOTE(subrok007 @ Aug 7 2013, 10:41 PM) after play around rt at harvey norman, touch cover really suck. sometime u press also no respond or touch also no respond. But type cover feeling good as laptop keyboard. FYI type cover selling at rm409. RT no so lightweight compare those nowadays tablet like ipad mini or ipad. But its really likely to replace laptop or netbook. You need some time to get used to it. I'm using touch cover for 2 months ++ now. Feels fluid.

But then again, it's individual user preference Also a I'm really anticipating the keyboard with battery pack, once that's available, I plan to let go my touch keyboard.

Getting Started

|
Thanks to Silverfire, I got my Surface Pro @ 2860. Sadly ipmart did not honour the deal that it was to come with the touch keyboard. They wanted to cancel the order & return my payment. Asked if they can bundle a wireless KB & mouse set @ ard $100, still they wouldn't, offering only a $20 credit.

Having a dilemma here. Ordered the 32GB version with touch keyboard and still waiting for its arrival. Tried the touch keyboard at challengers today and the experience wasn't pleasant The accuracy is really really low and a simple task such as typing suddenly became hard. I have an iMac and and iPad with me so whenever I wanna do some word typing on my iPad I will connect the Wireless Keyboard from my iMac. The physical keys are really nice to have. Is it really that hard to get used to a touch keyboard ? Anyone tried to hook up his/her Surface RT with a keyboard ? Does it work ? Thanks

Logitech has one which is small and sleek or Microsoft's Wedge mobile keyboard

QUOTE(richard912 @ Aug 8 2013, 10:53 PM) Here's a nice video comparing the RT with an iPad The only reason for me to get Surface RT, full sized USB port and free Microsoft Office Home and Student but.... Do you really need Microsoft Office on your tablet, I mean most of us will still prefer to do our assignments on a full sized PC or laptop.

Well personally I think that included micrsoft office is good, as you not only view files and can also work on it while you are at a place without pc and urgent? And I think this is what ipad/android tablets can't do, correct me if i'm wrong .

Yeah I really liked Surface RT with the included Microsoft Office and a full sized USB port, I just hope that my field of work will requires me to work with all these awesome features As for now, I rarely use Microsoft Office. Maybe once per month for assignments and it is really a waste.

It's my mobile companion when away from my desk or out of office entirely. Love it for its good batt life and of course, the bundled Microsoft Office.

It depends on what else you plan to use it for. If you're a candy crush / clash of the titan person , then this is not the one. But there are good apps at the moment in the store and more awesome apps are in the baking tray. But if you are looking at a mini PC like capable device with productivity capabilities the RT marks the spot. But based on your post which on reading device, then RT fits your bill, bugger screen with better resolution.
