Canon lenses are a lot cheaper compared to Nikon, lets say the 50mm, the 17-40L, the 70-200L.
*
Actually we no need to compare the price , because it will be never end battle laugh.gif , both have pros & cons , Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS mark2 isn't cheap too if compared to Nikon , while nikon UWA isn't cheap too compared to canon version , canon have some great tele primes , but they aint cheap too sweat.gif so just use what we could afford and satisfy us tongue.gif tongue.gif

eh btw, the nikon de UWA 10-24 compare to tokina 11-16.. for DX , tokina better?

cuz like for canon 10-22 better than tokina, and the price not like nikon so high @@
*
So far i see from internet review , tokina offer better sharpness than canon 10-22mm , but canon offer better flare control / distortion than tokina , so i think worth to get original canon version , as a canon i happy they offer some cheaper lens for like me hobbyist , i no need the maximum sharpness , i would like to pick up Nikon D90 at first , but look at the Nikon zoom lens price shocking.gif , that hold me back and choose canon laugh.gif

the 10-24 is 2900, but not on par with the 11-16.. haven see any 10-24 user yet so im not sure.

If travel... nowadays I'm getting so lazy I'm planning to buy a mirrorless for traveling  laugh.gif Especially after my Bangkok earlier this year, carrying 6kg+ walking around Bangkok. And rarely bring the camera out because too tired ._. I bet if I was using mirrorless I would be shooting around like crazy.
*
Travel either 1body 2 primes or 1body with 1 zoom, more than enough haha, no need to bring zoom and primes, end up u carry more than shooting =.=

imo 2 primes, and for scenery u need UWA too rite?
*
FF body + 24mm + 50/85 is more than enough in my opinion , but i stil will choose 24-70 + body for travel

Travel is to relax urself because u spending too much time on nowaday busy work life , if travel stil bring 24-70, 70-200, UWA , Primes + flash + tripod , then how u gonna relax urself? laugh.gif Enjoy ur trips is more important in my opinion laugh.gif

vari angle touch screen has more risk of the screen  not functioning well after years of using..bt maybe u'll upgrade before it happens..haha.
wifi mmg one thing lacking as well as gps lo..

bt wat bout noise performance? anyway if FF heavy, there's always the D600 and Canon 6D..
*
About vari angle screen, I don think any nikon d5100 or canon user 600d 650d 60d complain about it, and I believe those vari screen isnt like those made in china quality, if u ever try, u will know nowaday nikon canon vari screen is very tough , solid and wont really break easily, so far I never heard any problem about it.

Ah but my point is Canon's marketing is telling you that their dslr does video's very well. When it should be take fantastic pictures with a bonus of some video making.

Guess that is why I choose Nikon. Camera for pictures with a bonus of video (not saying that canon can't take good pictures too).

Proper video camera would be \http://www.panasonic.com/business/provideo/professional-camcorders.asp
*
Dslr for video , u can have more lenses to choose and shoot, and nowaday alot of advertisment , wedding , also done by dslr , keda.Z, Cm leung , +M also using dslr to shoot video, no matter sony, nikon, canon.

Not to mention, spending so much on camcorder just for video? Why not I just settle down with dslr? I can do landscape shoot, portrait, off camera flash yet shoot video, can camcorder done this?

With dslr u can play with the dof, lens with f1.2, f1.4, f1.8 can be done by camcorder?

Would u bring such big camcorder to travel or rather choose dslr?

If you're referring to CGI etc, I agree. But we are now talking about Lightroom.

*not sure how old is the GTX280, but should be higher end than my HD4870.
*
Correct, Lightroom doesnt need decent GC, but as u say saving at hdd and ssd deliver almost same speed, especially when u spot removal, and brush alot, it start lagging, im running on ssd crucial m4, 8gb ram , i5 also feel abit lag sometime when doing alot of layer brush, editing 18mp raw file only, I cant imagine how slow if edit d800 raw @@"

You must be using some high end graphics card I assume?
From my experience, I shoot with both D700 and D800 in NEF 14-bit lossless, basically during post processing as I arrange the images based on shoot time I can't exactly tell if I'm editing on 12MP or 36MP... feels similar to me in terms of speed and system responsiveness, but I have a habit of generating all the 1:1 previews ready. And yes I use a lot of spot removal too + brush layer ever since LR4 and now LR5 I rarely get into Photoshop unless I need liquify.
*
Me too , only go photoshop when i need liquify , other than that LightRoom 4 can done the job , from the review Lightroom 5 even more powerful especially the spot removal tools , i gonna try it one day biggrin.gif

For me , editing MediumRAW and LargeRaw got different , especially when u using Brush tools , u will feel lagging on LargeRAW file when brushing , i feel smooth on MediumRAW/SmallRAW , JPEG have the most smooth editing experience
