I was browsing fb yesterday and saw a photo of a graduation photo.. using ultra wide and the  customers (6 ppl) where spread out in the same line but  all looking at different direction, one look at sky one look at ground and others duno looking where.  and those at the side were super distorted. mind you this is a full body shot and everyone was liking and commenting good shot , awesome , impressive... . .. .and such . who said distortion was bad tongue.gif

The amount of likes in FB sometimes is dependent on the popularity of the people itself haha laugh.gif

Need some opinion here. I want to purchase 24-70.

Would you guys consider taking grey unit for lens? unsure.gif
*
Hmm, I think grey set is okay laugh.gif
Its not like they don't have shop warranty right? At least that's what Yannick says tongue.gif
You can do alot with the money saved hmm.gif

Well, they do provide warranty. The guy I usually bought my stuff is Yannick too~ lol biggrin.gif

Just that I never bought grey set before, wonder if it would affect any resell value or somehow the handling isn't like local unit (more problem, etc.) bla bla
*
Don't think you will ever want to sell a 24-70 tongue.gif tongue.gif
I think this lens will still retain a lot of its value regardless of whether its local unit or not, cause most people when they sell this kind of lens, the warranty coverage is definitely over already right? hmm.gif

Eh anyone of you here know whats the market price of a used D800 nowadays? Hehe
*
QUOTE(Icehart @ May 30 2013, 08:42 PM)
I forgot to tell you that your Bali pictures are quite awesome  rclxms.gif
*
Probably around RM6-7k if its still quite new?
Good deals often pop up from time to time. Last time Yannick was selling a used one for around RM7.8k (iirc) with 2-3 years warranty left, the one who bought that machine really lucky laugh.gif

And thanks for the praise bro, appreciate it!
Still learning, a lot of things that I don't know sweat.gif

The earlier you develop your passion towards photography, the better yo, more time for improvments thumbup.gif
I really envied people in high school who managed to grab hold of a DSLR and learn... During my time want to get a film camera also hard sweat.gif

Eh, I thought student got more time? haha laugh.gif

That many points really don't matter much. We need a more sensitive AF in lowlight that's accurate.
*
Nicely put nod.gif
The current number of AF points in the D7000 and D7100 already more and enough I think hmm.gif

i only wish to has bigger focus bracket instead of pack all 39 points in small area

+1, the D400 will probably be better than the D600 at this hmm.gif
The marketing segments set by Nikon are pretty obvious here sad.gif

The difference, one is FF and another is crop sensor flex.gif
*
Ya, and that is exactly where the problem is haha...
The D600 gives people the impression that it was built in such a way that it "fits" nicely as a "lowest-end" FF camera of its range even if its powered with newer technology (with some features as good as the D800, and some not as good as the DX D7000/D7100) to prevent self-competition within its range of cameras.

A quote from Jeremy Clarkson: "A car (camera in this case tongue.gif) should be built the best that it can be, not "limited" to fit into a certain niche for profits." But its always about profits, now isn't it? sad.gif sad.gif

Not saying the D600 is bad here. I didn't opt for one because of the dust issue laugh.gif
Just my 2 cents

The dust issue is better now with new units... rclxm9.gif
*
Good to know thumbup.gif
Well, the good thing is that you get "free" sensor cleaning from Nikon; even for dust that are not actually caused by the oil splattering laugh.gif
Sensor cleaning not cheap yo

personally i dont think the dust really a big issue la...although at early stage i really felt knn why like this. My unit is early2 batch n get it just after nikon malaysia announced here (sept 2012)
so far i never see any dust happen in my sensor already (now ~5-6k sc), but the oil spot do still happen. i just get it clean before my trip last week and now i saw some tiny oil mark already. this issue also happen on my D7000 as well.

i feel dust is more easy to handle because just need blower to blow then kao tim. but for the oil that really hard to remove except i have the right tool n experience to do myself la.
*
Agreed, its not really a problem, just need more time to spot heal during post processing lo sad.gif And most customers complain how come pay so much liao still get issues like this.
Well, at least you know how to clean your sensor, a very valuable skill lei.. I don't even dare touch this cry.gif

There is not even a Nikon service centre in Sarawak... If have, it would be more easy for me to get my equipments checked... cry.gif

BTW, my af assist light does not light anymore... Can claim warranty on this? icon_question.gif
*
Sorry to hear of your problem. No worries bro, I'm sure they will set one up in no time. Sarawak is growing fast rclxms.gif

Have you check that the mode is in AF-A or AF-S and in the dark 1st? If its not working and its under warranty, definitely can claim warranty nod.gif
