QUOTE(Pro3363 @ Jul 15 2013, 06:32 PM) Some assignments i use my D3200.... Yeah, come to think of it having a small crop sensor DSLR, or perhaps a m43 will be nice in Malaysia.. at least doesn't attract too much attention and get robbed I really miss the time doing street photography in Singapore, Hong Kong and Bali... just shoot, noneed to worry about this and that

Fellow sifus, I need some help I have a SB700. I was wondering whether there's any way to fire the flash if I am using a compact camera (different brand) with a built-in flash? There should be a pre-flash trigger thing right? I was wondering whether sifus can give some info on how to use it? Thanks in advance

QUOTE(f5calvin @ Jul 15 2013, 08:14 PM) I think u can sell 3200 d..get a lens from there. Cz d600 nt heavy one.so no use keeping 3200.. 50mm 1.8 not just a few stops from 2.8 leh. Quite a lot difference u can save a lot of iso. N bokeh can't fight with it too.. Thanks for the input sifu I never really find the need to lower ISO with flash haha.. at least not at the moment... and I kind of prefer the bokeh of the 24-70 at 70mm F2.8 The one reason I am not willing to let go of my trusted 50mm is its light weight

QUOTE(teetaatee @ Jul 15 2013, 08:48 PM) compact ah sb 700 as slave? Sorry if noob question haha, but is it possible to trigger the SB700 by just a pre-flash from any camera? I think I did saw something like that in one of the videos by Digitalrev TV where the sifu use even noob camera to trigger flashes I only know how to use it with the D90 and D800... Not sure how it works with other camera.. I guess can say the SB700 is the slave lol, but who is the "commander"? lol Thanks again

QUOTE(Pro3363 @ Jul 15 2013, 09:01 PM) Flash trigger system like the ones from Yongnuo? I think its something like that haha The SB700 cannot? I tried Googling but the thing is I don't even know how to ask the question I just feel it will be great to be able to bring the SB700 out with some other camera that's not that heavy, especially on non-important occasions

QUOTE(f5calvin @ Jul 15 2013, 09:28 PM) the grad photos u took for those material guys really naise! the one lying in circle how u shoot ar? Thanks for the compliment mate! The photos are only nice because of the enthusiasm of those students haha, very energetic lot! The shot is taken at the new Examination Building. There is a huge corridor at the centre which is very good for photos because its pretty empty, and the paint is new Took that shot by climbing up to the 2nd floor, luckily didn't drop my camera haha... photo taken using liveview

QUOTE(teetaatee @ Jul 15 2013, 10:26 PM) u top student ? Don't I look like one? Not nerdy enough? haha But I think students with 1st class honours can also opt for conversion from loan to scholarship. Some of my friends who are very brave cheated and applied for both JPA and PTPTN and noneed to pay back for both Sorry for off topic. I can't wait to try out SU-4 (Why they always use this kind of weird names, hard to keep up haha) This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Jul 15 2013, 10:30 PM

QUOTE(gerald7 @ Jul 15 2013, 11:42 PM) For SU-4 mode it will activate according ANY flash it detects. So preflash will cause it to trigger as well. better switch off any preflash from the compact. Thanks for the input sifu! Pretty amazing how this SU-4 works, especially the syncing part haha... Will try it out tomorrow Compact cameras got pre-flash one? Dunno much about compacts
