This are all application system. There many modules in the package.
to customise the system, you need to know some of the languages.
For SAP they are using ABAP to customise their software.
BAAN not sure ?
JD edwards not sure

" SAP" , "BAAN" and "JD edwards"

All the above are ERP applications offered by various software vendors. ERP simply means Enterprise Resource Planning, which includes modules used in different sectors of a company, such as Financials, Manufacturing, Human Resource, CRM and etc.

SAP by SAP http://www.sap.com/index.epx
BAAN by SSA Global http://www.ssaglobal.com/
JD Edwards by Oracle http://www.oracle.com/applications/jdedwards-world.html

If one simply googles on the above keywords, lots of information can be found... rclxms.gif

Hi all,

I have mre than 8 yrs experience with ERP software but not SAP.

My pay is abt 5k and not moving anywhere...and microsfot erp (which i am experience in) is not paying well above that for project manager or consultant.

I was wondering would it be fruitful to move into SAP by taking a SAP course?

it will cost me 25k only for FICO and unsure if can get same salary as current when grad.

Any comments?

I don't think it's possible to study ERP systems thru online or books. You can say that SAP courses are more like professional courses, but abit more pricey and 'high class'. smile.gif

Can also learn Oracle PeopleSoft... The consultants are pay better due to large demand and short supply. Similiar to SAP, once you have master the application you are globally employable

Talking about learning ERP solutions.... It is hard to just pick up the ERP solutions thru self-study without being in the job itself (One thing for sure, we can install the ERP solutions on a home pc). However, for a beginner in ERP, one can always pick up a general book on ERP and learn the concept... rclxms.gif
