Have you tried copying the songs to the DVD itself without using any burn software? That should do the trick.

Yes. Because when you insert an empty CD/ DVD, a prompt will appear on whether do you want to use it as a removable device or with a CD/ DVD player by default. You can use the default Windows burning process for this:

It works for both, just that the DVD has a larger storage.

Alternative, you can consider following this tutorial, by clicking on the To burn music, pictures, and videos to a data CD or DVD to collapse it. This can be a safer bet.
