I consistently do it for 3 yrs ady. I dont know hw to do it on spreadsheet. Previously i tried to use my iphone apps to monitor my income n expenses. But i dont like it at last. I still prefer do it manually.

Let say i do it on spreadsheet, is there a way the excel will consol all my assets n liabilities on a balance sheet? So tht i could have clearer picture of my current finl position.
*
U never attended Excel workshop/training? hmm.gif

I have separate worksheets for each significant class of asset:
(1) FDs
(2) Unit trusts
(3) Stocks

And a working worksheet where I record my bank balances, credit card balances etc.

Then all will be linked to a master summary balance sheet, where all are laid down. Assets - Liabilities = Net Worth

And I track my net worth growth over time, growth rate is also calculated.

Basically u just do all your records in Excel, and link to sum total of each record to a master balance sheet. Just trial and error til u find a format that u like icon_rolleyes.gif

U got any spreadsheets for  auto analyzing stocks  for investments  hmm.gif
*
I only use to track my IRR and Profit/Loss. Analyse...I'm not that anal laugh.gif

I just do very basic analysis, analyse 5 year revenue growth, profit growth, profit margins, dividend payout ratio, dividend yield etc. Simple stuff only.

Cash flow, I just glance thru its Cash Flow Statements and cash position in the balance sheet, no thorough analysis on that.

Accountants also hve 24 hours a day, no more or less than others.

Opportunity costs on your time managements too.

How well u keep does not always tally on how good the returns are.

Sori for saying that  notworthy.gif

Agree.

Akauntans are to make sure that management don't go too far wrong, our job is to raise red flags before it's too late, it's never our job to make money. laugh.gif

My record-keeping is more or less automated already. nod.gif

Honestly I am not a baked cake fans either.

The waffle cake targets children market. School canteens are the places you'll find'em.

In fact their export market are doing better than local market. Revenue, gross profit & gross profit margin are growing.

Healthy cash flow, good dividends are the reason I buy it. Cheaper than competitor Hupseng in terms of PE.

Ping Pong biskut is starting to get expensive. Luckily I bought in early. Starting to attract the attention of yield seekers? hmm.gif

Yes, during my schooldays, I eat their waffles/cakes almost every day drool.gif

Sama lar...personal finances/budgeting red flag I was referring to just now

Accounts are backward-looking. So that when I see "eh, my investments not performing", then its time to re-evaluate

QUOTE(gark @ May 20 2013, 01:00 PM)
For plantation you need to see the locations as well, some location is much more fertile and FFB yield + OER can have 20%-30% differences.

Most fertile locations.

1. West Semenanjung - Perak/Selangor
2. Sabah - East Coast (Tawau, Kunak, Lahad Datu)
3. Kalimantan - South/East Kalimanatan
4. Sumatera Utara (Central + East)
5. Riau (Eastern near Dumai)
6. Palembang (Southern incl. Bangka Island)

In fact Indonesia is generally approx 10-20% more fertile than Malaysia...

U working in plantation sector? Else how cum u know all that detailed technical stuff hmm.gif

Pana jie jie

Last nite I did an analysis of their fundamentals, I think Ping Pong biskut is cheaper valued compared to Waffle in terms of DY, but P/E-wise Waffle cheaper. Ping Pong has been very generous with their dividend payout for the past few years.
