In Singapore, we have expensive cars with expensive petrol.....

Singapore land too small, call for efficient public transportation.
By the way, Singapore's public transportation is damn efficient.

we import foreign workers, we ourselves to blame just to cut cost down,

but in the long run we ran into tons of problems handling them. so some of our people got no jobs, all being filled up by indons, bangla, myanmar, etc u name it....

Hong Kong public transport is not bad too. Those mini bus drivers are very efficient in balancing out demand and supply. They can change their bus signs and head to congested area within minutes. So don't really have to wait more than 10 minutes for bus unlike here.
