Anyone holding DLADY here?

Divvy yield based on last 2012 financial year is very rich, 5.6%. But their divvy payout is somewhat inconsistent.

50 sen x 2 per annum is almost fixed, but that's only 2%+ yield
*
It's (50 sen + 80 sen) x 2 last year. But it's > 90% of FCF, so probably not sustainable.

Anyway, I am holding mine, for now.

EPS is only 190+ sen, so payout of (50+80)x2 is absolutely not sustainable

If we assume 90% payout, 190 x 90% = 170

1.7/47 current price = 3.6%

More or less around Nestle's DY. But Nestle's product portfolio is more formidable

I am betting on the growth opportunity. Another strong point of DLADY is that it has zero bank loan rolleyes.gif

I observe two schools of thoughts when it comes to counting return/gain:

(A) deduct dividend from cost
(B) count dividend towards return

I think it's OK to use one OR the other, but not both. And, for method A, only deduct dividend of the first year, not the subsequent year.

Cannot really teach new Generations to like the older generation things.

Well, when u were a student time, somehow yr parents might complain you sticked to something like computer games or any kind of socializing  laugh.gif

I remember a young girl complaining about an ahpek for smoking inside a lift. New generations also cannot teach older generations.

You can't tell older people to do this:
- use fewer plastic bags
- when staying in hotel, switch off air-con before going out

Sorry OT tongue.gif

It's not so bad if grandma asks you to teach her how to buy stocks. The scary thing is grandma teaches you what stocks you should buy laugh.gif (Peter Lynch's Cocktail Theory)
