QUOTE(parachutas @ Jul 1 2013, 11:38 AM) Hi all. I got a question. I bough this 4010x from DiGi. I called to and the operator said this phone is unlocked. I think it only happened due to Umobile sim.so i put in my umobile sim card. i can call n send a sms. but the line bar there has a "R" alphabet. i believe is mean for roaming. i tick the "data enabled" but i still don't see the data connected. but when i tick the "data roaming" then the data is connected. Anybody know how to solve this? This might be due to the umobile borrowing maxis network at your place, thus the roaming thingy. Just check the cost of your sms and calls, if it is the same as normal, then you might have to learn to ignore the R. This is only my guessing as it happened the same when i put umobile sim in my xperia tipo. So if i'm wrong hopefully some can clarify. |

QUOTE(icyd @ Jul 1 2013, 04:36 PM) guys, im a new user. managed to root mine i guess, since its usable now and im able to delete some of the bloatwares.but the thing that's bugging me is, i havent installed any app other than facebook and whatsapp. on idle available ram is around 30mb only, after sometime facebooking it goes down really low until 4-5mb left.what the heck? it lags just like before rooting.total ram stated amounts to only 160mb thereabout and internal storage is 150mb,with 54mb left at current state FB apps really does ate quite a lot of RAM. Use the browser to surf the net and also FB. As for me, I never use it for anythg more than a 2nd phone for my other sim. With its spec, a backup phone is all there is to it. QUOTE(saffara @ Jul 2 2013, 10:33 PM) how to change the keyboard setting for texting? now i'm using the QWERTY mode, i want to switch to old school keypad (123456789), but i cannot find the setting. help anyone? thanks... I also want to know because i cant find it either. My conclusion for now, such function didn't exist in this model. So i installed (EvenBetter)NumberPad Keyboard from google play store. People keep asking the reason of rooting.
Why ROOT the phone? What for? Well, to simply put it in a simple explaination, Because we want: - to gain the ability as a super admin/user. You can do whatever you want with the access behind those restricted door of system. - to delete unwanted bloatware/garbage-apps that is preinstalled on our phone by the manufacturers or telco. (most of the time, these apps cant be uninstalled directly/normal way. rooting allows us to bypass this restriction. deleting these apps will free up more space on the phone, and might as well freeing more RAM for system usage, thus faster operation less lagging.) - to bypass the system restriction and install ALL file to our SD card. Yeah our internal storage is too small, so to install on our external storage as SD card would be awesome. More space, yay. - to change the type of system it self. like you change from windows 7 to windows 8 or even Linux OS. They called these OS for phone, custom ROM. There are lots of types out there. However those ROM still depends if your device is supported by them. Because you cant just simply install/flash any of those ROM randomly. It needs to be compatible with your phone, or you will have an expensive paperweight if u failed. However, with great power, came with great responsibility and risks. You WILL VOIDED your warranty if you root your devices. there is a way to gain back the warranty which by reflashing your phone with the original system os. So you need to read up how to do it 1st before u actually thinking to root. As for my alcatel, (i use mgyun) I rooted > change the chinese superuser to english > created partition on my SD Card > install Link2SD app to move and install all other apps to the SD card instead of internal memory > deleted unwanted apps/bloatwares > enjoy my phone. For further reading on these matter of rooting, read Here. |

QUOTE(rickysim84 @ Jul 7 2013, 02:24 PM) Good read there, at leave i have some direction after rooting my phone. But i need ur help here, how to change the superuser to english? Copy paste from what i've written before. Check my pass posts for more info.:Download SuperSU from Play Store. Install, and open it up. does it ask to update binary? click yes, format type, normal. See 3 tabs in that SuperSU? The Apps, Logs and Settings? Click Setting, scroll down and find Install SuperSU into /system. hit on that. it automatically uninstall the chinese version of superuser and all work as dandy. All english version now. |
