as far as i know coaxial speaker means a speaker which produces the high freq sound (sharp sound) and low freq sound (bass) together on one speaker,

and a coaxial setup means having the mid-bass speaker and the tweeter set together.

Crossover
A device intended to separate the different frequency bands and redirect them to different components.

THD Total Harmonic Distortion
A component specification which describes its ability to accurately reproduce a signal. Although lower numbers are considered to be better, the human ear typically cannot detect THD ratings below 2% or 3%.

mADmAN , excellent explanation.

nightzster, usually a crossover is provided when u buy in one complete set tweeter and mid bass.

Unless you buy seperately tweeter and mid-bass, there's no crossover

i think u can't buy a seperate stand alone crossover, but there's one device called electronic crossover might be useful.
