Tim Cook: "Sed et si ambulavero in valle mortis non timebo malum" .... hahahahaha

http://bgr.com/2013/04/25/apple-phablet-an...s-nokia-464168/
Chilling deja vu as Apple starts to echo Nokia circa 2007

For those who followed Nokia closely in the past decade, some of Tim Cook’s comments are starting to trigger a weird sense of dislocation. “Our competitors have made some significant tradeoffs in many of these areas to ship a larger display. We would not ship a larger display iPhone while these tradeoffs exist.” Is this Apple’s CEO in 2013 or Nokia’s CEO in 2007? The strongest parallel is in the weird way both companies started fighting the consumer preference for larger displays at the peak of their profitability… and then dug in as margins began eroding rapidly.

Apple’s gross margins peaked in early 2012, just when Samsung’s Galaxy Note concept of a smartphone equipped with a jumbo-sized display was taking off. It soon bred a litter of copycats. By early 2013, the iPhone’s average sales price and margins were dropping fast as many premium buyers flocked to models with 4.5- to 6-inch screens. Apple grudgingly expanded the iPhone screen size to 4 inches last fall, probably one to two years after it should have made the move. But larger phablets are already likely to make up more than 15% of smartphone market in 2013.

To update on rooting method. This time I did not use ChengLu method ( root cum CWM) but opt instead for Chainfire auto root. You can download his file from
http://download.chainfire.eu/264/CF-Root/C...gxx-gtn7100.zip
Flash the extracted tar file as PDA using Odin in PC

According to dr Ketan :

Method 1:
Disadvantage : Here you will get full root access, but here recovery will remain stock, so you won't have option to flash zip files (still you can flash zip with Mobile Odin), but you won't have any option for Nandroid backup/Restore.
Advantage : You have to reset flash counter once only, then whenever you need to reset to unroot/ready to claim warranty, just you need to go to superSU - setting - unroot.
So If you are Flash counter conscious and really don't have need for nandroid backup, This one is for You.

His mentioned disadvantage can be easily overcome . Just use Mobile Odin and flash the TWRP recovery img.tar file and you will have recovery installed
The TWRP img file can be downloaded at :

For ppl who do not have mobile odin pro, how to flash zip files?

Note 2 screen is actually big enough for me. At first wanna wait for S4 LTE but alas get note2 simply because the 3100mah LOL. Just no full hd for me

HD or Full HD, not much difference one, unless your eyes are very brows.gif

6 inch would be tad difficult to hold for me, holding my Note 2 for runs will cause cramps already tongue.gif

According to this link, one of the methods and indications is when you on on to your notification bar and fling it up and down, it does not stick to your finger. That one is noticeable. But other than that, its true that its not significant.

It's mentioned clearly in your post u quoted to flash using pc odin . Since u haven't root your phone yet , there's no other option . Mobile Odin don't work without root . Also , if I remember correctly b4 I purchased the pro version, the free version allows u 2 flash recovery and kernel only but I might be wrong since I bought it least then a day of trying it out .

Work out a plan, say, try 2 ROMs a day, and you will run thru the list in about 6 months (assuming you start with more current ROMs), just in time to get a Note 3 !!! laugh.gif

shocking.gif 2 roms a day.. hahaha. My job now gives me only ample time to eat, sleep and taking dumps.

Weekends should be alright though.. And probably only samsung roms.

AOSP roms lack the vintage filter on the camera.. Not happy with that. doh.gif

Oh ya , 1 more tip . To clean your screen b4 applying the SP , best use Zippo lighter fluid 2 wipe your screen or alcohol patch . Some ppl use nail polosh removal . This is remove all the stains n oil and also 2 make d screen static free .
