Well, it could be from the beginning the first order is ODD.
Thats why check it first. http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-...tml#post8668981 looks like related to the jumper for the HDD. try this guide, http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-...tml#post8599260 This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Jun 14 2013, 04:42 PM |

QUOTE(sadukarzz @ Jul 6 2013, 02:52 AM) I hope that I can add in another SSD as boot drive for my AW14 without removing the optical drive >.< but I couldn't understand the part in the owner's manual which only mentions about removal and replacement of secondary HDD. So does it means in order to add in a second drive I have to remove optical drive ? Or the slot itself is in the optical drive bay ? confused T.T The AW 14 is 2 SATA + 1 mSATA. You need to remove the Optical Drive for the 2nd HDD.I'd be grateful for anyone who can shed further light in this >< p/s: 64gb msata is enough for caching 750gb hdd ? O_O As copied from the manual, NOTE: The secondary hard-drive or solid-state drive is optional and can be installed in the optical drive bay. |

QUOTE(vk9545 @ Aug 12 2013, 07:27 PM) Ya correct also. Same here I own a macbook 2010 model after a year the battery giving alot of probs full charge last 30minits for 1 year laptop. So I went n ask them they say my warranty expire ady I have to pay. The freakin battery alone cost rm700. Was felt bad for not purchasing thier 3 year warranty which cost rm800 or more I think. Are u sure can upgrade after buy the laptop bro? If yes means I will just buy the laptop 1st bcos cash constraint n upgrade the warranty later on before 1 year. Warranty extension can be done after purchase, but will be much more expensive.and battery is not covered in that 3 years extended warranty if not mistaken. |

QUOTE(horns @ Aug 28 2013, 10:12 PM) yes, i suspect so. 180W is not for a 770m, plus the ram upgrade. 240W is more like it. 330W is much better. I think for aw, high wattage (important: must be same voltage!) should be fine; especially if you intended to fill up whatever port/slot in it with new hardware upgrades. Then the illegear RS-15 Lite is worse? GTX770M with 120W power brick...ivy-bridge based asus g-series, from what I have learned, has no problem using higher-power adapters. i'm not sure about the latest haswell models. |
