What about if you remove the HDD caddy?
Test with SSD alone.

and the Boot Order in BIOS, already set to SSD ?

I hope that I can add in another SSD as boot drive for my AW14 without removing the optical drive >.< but I couldn't understand the part in the owner's manual which only mentions about removal and replacement of secondary HDD. So does it means in order to add in a second drive I have to remove optical drive ? Or the slot itself is in the optical drive bay ? confused T.T

I'd be grateful for anyone who can shed further light in this ><

p/s: 64gb msata is enough for caching 750gb hdd ? O_O

The AW 14 is 2 SATA + 1 mSATA. You need to remove the Optical Drive for the 2nd HDD.

As copied from the manual,
NOTE: The secondary hard-drive or solid-state drive is optional and can be installed
in the optical drive bay.

does this mean there are 2 SSD slots possibility in the M14 r4 ?

You can go up to 3.
1 x mSATA SSD
1 x 2.5'' 9.5mm HDD/SSD
1 x 2.5'' 9.5mm HDD/SSD replacing the Optical Drive.

Ya correct also. Same here I own a macbook 2010 model after a year the battery giving alot of probs full charge last 30minits for 1 year laptop. So I went n ask them they say my warranty expire ady I have to pay. The freakin battery alone cost rm700. Was felt bad for not purchasing thier 3 year warranty which cost rm800 or more I think. Are u sure can upgrade after buy the laptop bro? If yes means I will just buy the laptop 1st bcos cash constraint n upgrade the warranty later on before 1 year.

Warranty extension can be done after purchase, but will be much more expensive.
and battery is not covered in that 3 years extended warranty if not mistaken.

yes, i suspect so. 180W is not for a 770m, plus the ram upgrade. 240W is more like it. 330W is much better. I think for aw, high wattage (important: must be same voltage!) should be fine; especially if you intended to fill up whatever port/slot in it with new hardware upgrades.

ivy-bridge based asus g-series, from what I have learned, has no problem using higher-power adapters. i'm not sure about the latest haswell models.

Then the illegear RS-15 Lite is worse? GTX770M with 120W power brick...

I'm not sure, they just launch it recently..
They say need to upgrade to 180W if change GPU to HD8970M or GTX780M.
