anyone here knows where i can get an m17xr4

i found one but the speakers doesnt seem to work

headphones n speaker out ports works fine tho

guys need your help , i have an m17xr4 , the power brick is 180 watts. Whenever the laptop is turned on i am not able to use the power brick , when i plug it in the power bricks light seems to turn off and windows does not detect the charger so its running on battery.

The power brick will only work if once the laptop is off. plugged charger and turn on laptop then only the power brick would work. Let say if i unpluged it and plug it back on it wont work.

Help me please.

dell said that they will be sending someone to replace my power brick

i somehow think it has to do with OS or driver issues

seems like when i plugged it in , my laptop cant detect it or something and the adaptor lights immediately went off

anyway im using m17xr4 , my powr brick is 180 , is 240 better ?

anyway not sure now when they are going to send someone since today is public holiday maybe tomorrow?

wanna ask you guys if the repair guy comes can i ask him to install additional RAMs that i bought since i so lazy to dissasemble to place the memories below the keyboard , if they install for me will they charge me ?

one more , last time i heard someone in forum lowyat offering cheaper option to extend alienware warranty iinm its plutochip ? the offer still stands ? how much to extend ?

Thanks for the feedback , am very lazy to open everything just to add RAM since its not your normal conventional RAM slots on every other lappy.

How do i get a hold of an M18xR4 anyone ?

Thanks thats good to know , its just that i saw some videos on youtube and their stock RAMs seems to be at the bottom and the free slots are under the keyboard. Is there any other specific way to know where it is instead of opening it . CPU Z says my 2 RAMs are in slot 1 and slot 3.

i just opened my m17x and confirmed that the stock RAMs are at the bottom , the 2 free slots are below the keyboard , haih so lazy to open the keyboard to install RAM.

which adapter are you using the 180 or 240 ?

have you tried using it outside. like cafe's . starbucks , anywhere with wifi , just basically anywhere with a power outlet in a mall ?

Coz last time i tried at curve , starbucks and a few others my adapter wont power up. I tried different power outlet when i plugged the adapter it has lights on it , but the moment i plugged in on my laptop the adapter lights went off immediately. is this adapter issue ? laptop issue or the mall limits the amount of power coming out of the power outlet ?

Anyone tried fitting in the m17x inside a Vindicator 17" yet ?

Would like to ask is anyone using some sort of TPU keyboard cover for their M17xR4 , armourone does not have it. Damn have to buy direct from china laa liddis.

I tried the Vindicator 17" on my M17x , its a very tight fit (tried it with the red cloth) , might need to get a Vindicator 18"

i updated mine via the app store , did not encountered anything weird regarding resolution change or whatever, all works fine for me. The download and installation took awhile even on 20mb unifi.

Chrome only looks cacat if using the chrome app, well not cacat laa just not like normal , the normal chrome browser looks like normal.

I think maybe all your fonts and icons looks smaller due to higher resolution, you can change the size of the icons and text

whats the standard rate to extend 1 year warranty

im using 8.1 on m17xR4 , no problems so far

core i7
12gb ram 1600
660m 2gb

it has a settings that you will need to change to boot to desktop , the option is available now but by default still loads to metro UI

so far games all running ok

any backpack recommendations for m17xr4 ? last time someone said everki titan , then someone said too big , tried to find it at retail stores cant find it . I know a lot of resellers here in lowyat forum but i need to see the backpack in person first. Anyone knows got physical stores got wide range of Everki's ? I went to IPC last weekend got 1 oni and i dont even know whats it called.

Any other suggestions backpack for m17x ?

currently using Vindicator 17" a really tight fit wouldnt recommend, if still want get the 18" version instead

oni the standard one that comes with m17x not killer wireless , the only online game i play rite now is diablo3 , yeah very sad still playing

but i got quoted rm780 a year , is this normal ? Or is this considered cheap ? 1k for 2 years extension .
