Yes bro.
And i got slightly cheap.
So it's worth it!
The build quality i'd say easily match the Macs...albeit not as thin...
Yup i agree. I love my win 7 more!
Thanks! thumbup.gif

In total, how long it took from placing order till arrival at your door step?
Order placement via online or via phone?

Definitely yes. search for Intel Rapid Storage Technology software in your system, you can configure from there.
are you sure ??  laugh.gif

mSata storage is only 64GB. Why would you want to use it as a storage since you haev 750GB of HDD already dedicated for that?
This kinda defeat the purpose of hybrid hdd right? rclxub.gif

If he gets the 64GB one, its not a bad idea to turn it into storage and move your OS to the msata SSD so it become boot drive instead of ssd caching
*
at the moment the configuration is only for caching?
OS not installed at the SSD?

5% discount and free HDD sounds like a good offer.
But if I could get 10% discount, that would be perfect laugh.gif

Just put a book at the back end of the laptop if you're in a decently cooled room. There's no need for a cooler pad. Trust me, it cools pretty good with a 1 inch book or any other lift you can find.

Spending 5k on a notebook already, what more another few hundred laugh.gif

I don't like carrying around a notebook cooler, it's another peripheral I have to stuff in the bag when 1 inch book does well for everything smile.gif

In fact, I don't have to carry a book, I can pretty much use anything.

xandman I'd suggest getting yourself a SSD, anywhere from 240-512gb (you don't really need a 940g SSD right now). SSD used for games, and software. Nothing else. Keep your porno and whatever else on the 750g that you'll use a secondary storage bit.
*
does this mean there are 2 SSD slots possibility in the M14 r4 ?

You can go up to 3.
1 x mSATA SSD
1 x 2.5'' 9.5mm HDD/SSD
1 x 2.5'' 9.5mm HDD/SSD replacing the Optical Drive.
*
wait.. now I'm confused.
The mSATA 64GB + 750GB HDD is a hybrid type of harddrive (all-in-one) or it is a separate item of SSD and HDD ?

To be honest, I hardly use it. Well, used it once to install Mass Effect 3 and Max Payne 3. I recently used it to test my 32gb of RAM. No idea why I even bothered with a blu-ray drive since I mostly use my Dune for blu-ray disc.

But I will admit that it's useful when you least expect it. When you need to memtest your system, or when you need to use a boot disc, or recovery disc, that's one reason I have it.

Is there still a practise from the manufacturer to provide recovery DVD nowadays?
Or they expect you to burn your own recovery DVD?

Kinda true  tongue.gif

But as for me, I would quickly burn myself a recovery disk (maybe two) before I remove the optical bay x)
Then prepare a backup to boot on external hard disk.
Then only I'll install my SSD.

Additional information for those who wondering about installing an SSD on the 3rd slot (by removing optical bay):

1. Can purchase part and ask technician to install with surcharge.
- But then would have your parts covered in warranty as well.

I will add in the price and other stuffs after I get my quotation from my awesome agent xD
(She had been very patient and willing to answer my questions as well as giving me freebies and discounts as much as possible).

SSD do have less lifespan compared to HDD. Really sure you wanna go fully SSD?

Haven't try that out myself so I couldn't give any comment on it XD
Will be able to try after my baby arrives.

looks quite straight forward.
No idea why Microsoft can't just embed the program in the OS itself.
Which model did you ordered and how much?

Yea it's quite, however judging from the language/grammar skill the author displayed, I'd say take extra precautions. Bad language for me is like a direct seller is selling the product with bad communication skills (as if direct selling itself was already not convincing). Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but its better to be safe than be sorry so go check out few more sources before proceeding. XD

I got the Alienware 14 shortlisted by my agent for confirmation tomorrow, the current quotation for me is 5035 for 2 years warranty and a Orion bag (Plus freebies and discounts). However I am waiting for the new quotation as I am getting two vindicator backpacks XD.  rclxm9.gif
