Hi guys! Alienware noob ere...just wanna ask sifus opinion here, should I buy the M14x now or wait for the new r3 model? I already asked Dell rep he quote me for around RM5.1K for:

-i7-3630QM
-12GB RAM
-32GB mSATA & 1TB 5400rpm HD
-2GB GeForce GT650M
-BD-ROM
-Killer Wireless-N
-and all default stuffs

I dont want to wait too long coz I need it to use it (other than for gaming)...just wanna know if it's worth it to buy now (these few days)...thanks!

depends on your urgency to get a laptop. icon_rolleyes.gif

the specs for this alienware are not customizable at the moment, so its preferred to wait.

guess what, im watching the Pre-E3 live on youtube now. biggrin.gif

kind of urgent...just chat with Dell rep, no customization at the moment & delivery takes 4-5 weeks!...can get good price for the "old" m14x @Intel® Core™ i7-3740QM , 12GB ram etc...but heat & noise issues I guess is the obstacle... rclxub.gif

I think u can get really below rm6k price for the above specs and in terms of speed it's faster than the new Intel Core i7-4700MQ of the new 14 (pls correct me on this)...but in terms of energy usage etc that's another issue...

Just one really2 last question for the sifus, should i pay around rm5.5k for:

M14x:
Intel® Core™ i7-3740QM,
2 GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce®GT 650M,
12GB 1600MHZ DDR3 SDRAM,
32GB mSATA SSD and 1TB 5400RPM Hard Drive,
Blu-ray BD-ROM / DVD +/-RW Combo Drive,
Killer™ Wireless-N 1202 a/g/n 2x2 MIMO for Gaming & Video and Bluetooth 4.0(MY),

or new AW14 for rm4999:
Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ,
2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 765M,
8GB 1600MHz Dual Channel DDR3L,
750GB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s + 64GB mSATA SSD Caching,
Slot-Loading 8x SuperMulti Drive (DVD±R/RW)
Killer™ NIC 1202 802.11n WiFi

...and of course time is not really on my side...cheers!... thumbup.gif

hmm well m14x R2 Heat and noise is normal... i dunno new one... if you on the budget why not have look at New Asus G750 RM5,999.00  or new Illegear notebook smile.gif

That's why I chose Illegear RE-15 over Asus ROG & M14x...but that was before AW14 got other specs to choose...hope I've made the right decision... sweat.gif
