What other hardware issues could it be? hmm.gif
I'll give them a call tomorrow. Didn't get the chance to call them today XD

not sure; probably power-related.

Man.. I dont know.. Probably reinstalling audio driver will help. I have never seen such weird errors before (mine or my friends')

I suggest you ask dell to take a closer look at it.

i used to get problem if just use the express installation since it installed together with the 3d vision thing (which is useless in AW14). i always do the perform clean install, so far no problem bro. might be something else's driver?

It seems this link is a pretty good way to try and fix if anyone has problems with 8.1

http://ftp.dell.com/published/Pages/index....ienware_laptops

Solved mine. Should I flash BIOS A13?
Released on 9th October 2013.

sh!ts happen to anything whether it's premium or not. just make good use of the warranty service. (it's actually not bad as many are happy with it).

Looks like I'm torn between updating my Nvidia drivers or not after hearing the issue. Plus, I have no idea why the Nvidia default driver on my Alienware couldn't contact server for update at least for a few hours now.

for r4, there is no apparent issue on the new update.

this is so true. that upgrade is really up to the user. the issues will usually go away given time. so if you're patient enough, just wait for a while before upgrade (by default we have 2 long years for that before w8 is announced EOL)

im working fine on 8.1 and find it only aesthetically awesome but some features are removed in the 8.1
so my advice is you dont have the need to upgrade if you are satisfied with your current windows 8.
