nice messenger! can show us bit more pic of it? how bout the backplate? it shows the original spec from the spec or according accurately from our customized spec?
*
I'll get more pics on the messenger later. I prefer the messenger over the backpack but the backpack has more compartments and space.

On the backplate, it does show my customized spec 4800MQ+780M smile.gif

Planned to upgrade my current M17x R4@GTX 680M+3D Vision2. Any recommendation for me?
*
upgrade gfx? or upgrade to the new AW14/17? 680M and 780M wont differ that much. get 880M nxt year smile.gif

Reporting back to the mother earth after 1 week of stress flying.

I did encounter some major throttling playing few games I owned. the temperature stuck at 67 (sometime 68 but rarely) when in integrated mode. using DELL stock video firmware with latest BIOS update (A03).

I'd like to test more but my time is so limited lately with Raya around the corner. I reckon in discrete mode the throttling would be at 77C and probably on EVGA could unlock it's full speed.

yeah. i lack of feedback on 17/18. i have had the parts almost ready (ssd's, caddy, rams, .ac router).

by the way, intel 7260 + asus rt-ac66u are good match. 866mbps all the way biggrin.gif
haha.. it's not ugly. imo it has a better look compared to the previous versions.
*
Hmm, sadly the intel 7260 is only double stream >.< i'll get it in a heartbeat but alas it is the same capability as broadcom that came with AW17 (wireless double streaming AC).

Does AC really improve range? from my read up it does not. From my testing my old 3 stream wifi-N intel 6300 has better range cry.gif

p/s: AW17 Broadcom AC is having trouble with most wireless router (my belkin is having severe timeout problem, my inlaw's basic streamyx router got no timeout problem but latency is 2ms average by pinging). Probably due to most routers are not upgraded with the latest firmware yet vmad.gif thinking of getting asus ac68u or ac56u when it is available...

What do you mean by the Broadcom AC is having trouble with most wireless router? Cause my incoming AW17 is equipped with the Broadcom card.

And is it compatible with the AC66u? Cause that's what I am using now.
*
I think AC66u will work flawlessly, can't find any review that said the AW17 broadcom wireless is bad. most of the router im connected with is wifi N if not g... and is old (if not very old, most are 3yrs++) and never had firmware update, so you need not to worry.

broadcom works well with AC66U if im not mistaken, been checking up AC66U then found out about 68U and 56U which will come out this month.

does anyone with the new line-up alienware paired it with a bluetooth mouse? trying to pair my razer orochi with my 14 but so far no luck. can do wired only..
*
mine is pairing perfectly. using razer orochi as well. my orochi is already old though, the first version.

ah.. good to know that! smile.gif

edit: yeah i have checked the specifications at dell (http://www.dell.com/support/Manuals/us/en/19/Product/alienware-17). it's stated that the msata slot is indeed for minicard form factor. (i guess the illegear guys know better smile.gif).
*
minicard form factor is mSATA SSD right?

if I understand it correctly, 1 mSATA and 3 normal size SSD (1 converted ODD) = quad 1tb SSD they were promoting. thats why it's only 256gb each for raid 0 as the biggest msata is currently 256gb?
