QUOTE(Eithanius @ Apr 19 2006, 01:02 AM) macbook pro....? that's a bit too much to plunge for a first timer..... iMac Core Duo or the Intel Mac Mini sounds about right.... portability-wise, wait for the upcoming cheaper MacBook *phew* even the macmini duo core is very expensive...

QUOTE(aaronchin @ Apr 19 2006, 09:27 AM) It's a bargain. Anyway, yeah go for any Intel-based Mac so you could enjoy the best of both world without much hassle. Office for Mac is just as nice, if not better, than its PC brother. Then there's the cheaper alternative AppleWorks, or the free OpenOffice. You won't have a problem doing your assignments. openoffice not so good if u're using it in working environment.. u cannot be 100% sure that ur recipient of ur work will get 100% of the contents.. in original formats... which is a pain ... so office for mac is the better option *ahem ahem*
